I bought this monitor stand to separate a Dell Laptop from its Thunderbolt port and power cords. The perforated stand allows the laptop to vent thereby avoiding overheating while holding it in a stable position.

I just got rid of an old computer desk and got a new desk without a ledge for the monitor. I like this monitor stand. It brings my monitor to eye level and give additional room on my desk. It's sturdy and I would recommend it.

Perfect "low profile" height but shakes while typing

I wanted something that would raise a non-adjustable monitor up to the max height of my second monitor. This is one of the few that did not go more than 4" but also had enough room to put my laptop underneath and not take up a ton of space. It does all of that well. However with only two legs and a more "flexible" body the monitor shakes while I type on my keyboard. I think I will go back to the 3M models with the plastic body and four legs.
