A satifying addition to a newly built kitchen

I bought a Hauslane PS18 range hood for a new kitchen. Hauslane was one of the few manufacturers out there who offered a white finish, which was important to us. It was installed in July of 2025 and we began using it in September (when we moved), so we've been using it for six months. We like a lot about the hood, most importantly, it really moves steam, smoke and cooking odors out of the kitchen well, even on the lowest fan settings. We find the down light nice and bright without shining directly into a cook's eyes; we often use only that light for food prep and stovetop use. The steel filter grids can be removed and reinstalled very easily and are easy to clean. One thing that could be a drawback for tall cooks -- the hood extends from the wall almost as far as the front edge of the range. This makes it really functional but it also means you can bump your head on the front corners if you're not paying attention. We like the feature that allows you to choose a huge range of fan speed and power; we'd like it to be a little quieter, although on the speed we usually use -- two or three bars on the display -- it doesn't make so much noise that people in the kitchen have to raise their voices to be heard over it. I wish it didn't make a beeping noise when you change the time or the fan speed, but recognize the need for that feature for people with impaired vision. The smooth clean finish is sleek and modern-looking without being "space-agey." It fits nicely with our kitchen cabinets and other appliances. I'd buy another one.

Effective, cost-effective, and so many options!

We've been super pleased with our choice! We were looking at commercial high-end units and only hauslane had the color and install options that we really needed. We were so pleased to find something that matched our decor, but also with my functioned for an active home cook! At the highest setting the fan is loud, but we often only need it on level one or two to deal with our everyday cooking.

This hood replaced an over the stove microwave / fan unit which wasn't sufficient and was constantly greasy, hard to clean and disgusting. This hood is a clean design with solid construction. Had no issues installing it and it's made a huge improvement in keeping the area cabinets clean and keeping the fumes and grease where they belong. Has been easy to clean and does an excellent job all while looking good over the stove. Glad we chose this unit.

Best Range I have ever owned. Out classes all over residential range hoods with 850 CFMs. Easy to clean -- just put the SS filter grates in the dishwasher and reinstall when clean. Bright down lighting from underneath hood for cooking, along with great fan speeds controls to adjust to your cooking needs. Easy to install with both top and back venting, plus the grease trap slides off quickly for ease of cleaning. Best residential rangehood for the price on the market!

Bought it for my renovated kitchen and installed it a month ago. The design and white color fit perfectly with the decor, and I love the different powers we can select depending on what we re cooking. High performance and reasonable noise. Would definitely recommend.

Great range hood, installation not easy

This is a fantastic range hood. Best by far that I have ever owned. I replaced an over the range microwave with this hood and the difference is night and day. Installation isn't a breeze and the unit is heavier than you would expect. Sound ar high speed is a little louder than expected, but I think it would be used little at high speed because suction is so good. Installation would have been easier if a template was provided. The unit is mounted with #10 wood screws but, going into my oak cabinet, the holes must be predrilled before mounting. This is impossible with difficult access to the mounting holes. I would recommend making your own template and predicting holes. Also, for the manufacturer, I would be a nice upgrade to have two level lighting.
