Great Humidor. Bang for your buck. Would recommend to buy. Season it first. Eyeball the humidity and temperature with a digital hydrometer and withing 4-5 days cigars my were living happy. Only CON is that i would of loved the top shelf to be able to fit on the second or bottom shelf.

Temperature + Humidity control = Cigars best friend. This is truly the best and most effective way to properly age and store your cigars! Do not worry about dreaded cigar beetles or dried up cigars no longer. The CC-100 allows you to store cigars in the perfect temperature and humidity levels year round.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Excellent Cigar Storage

I've had this unit for a few weeks now and am liking it quite a bit. I have been storing cigars at home for 20 years and I currently have 4 traditional desktop humidors and a large cabinet humidor. I have used igloo coolers in the past and this most closely reminds me of those in the ease of use and setup. Of course, it holds humidity well, and I'm using a Cigar Oasis Excel in it, which is rated for a 300 cigar capacity humidor, although a polymer bead humidity solution would work fine, like Boveda packs, for instance. Quick note on humidor capacities, they generally use smaller corona sized cigars to measure, so this 250 cigar humidor is more realistically going to hold 150 larger sized cigars. I like that it's deep and can hold full boxes of cigars, as well as singles in the drawer. I also am impressed that the hygrometer, which is integrated into the drawer, seems pretty accurate. The only concern I would have is making sure the humidity is controlled as it's very tightly sealed and could potentially mold if left unopened for long periods. Smoke out of it, opening it every few days, and you'll be fine. The only other problem I've had is finding a good place to put it, and it has to be a place with access to an electrical outlet. This is an especially nice unit if you live somewhere with temperature extremes, as the temperature control seems to work quite well, easily set and quiet. I would definitely recommend this humidor.
First let me say I love the unit. It's just what I needed. I took the time to properly season it. My cooler is currently at 56° and with that I have the humidity at 68%. I have achieved that with no water or boveda packs since seasoning it back in March. Nothing. I'm not complaining, I just don't understand how its maintaining that with no moisture source. I haven't added any water for the past 2 months. I open it every so often to get a cigar and when I fo, the temp rises and the humidity dips, but when I close it, it goes back to 56° and 68% rh. How is that possible?

Great Humidor

After reading many online forums regarding thermo-electric humidors, I ordered the NewAir CC-100. The humidor arrived in perfect condition, as well as the cedar drawer and two shelves which had a very pleasing aroma. The humidor itself, though, had a plasticy chemical smell so I used solutions of distilled water and vinegar a few times to remove it. After that, I placed some large Boveda 75s and two Xikar Humistores to season it in addition to using distilled water to lightly moisten the cedar wood. I did not use the included tray to humidify it. Before turning the NewAir CC-100 on for the first time, the instructions state to use a level and adjust the feet so that its stable. Once I plugged it in, I noticed how quiet it is. You can barely hear it at all. The room I placed the unit in currently has an ambient temperature of 69 degrees, and I set the temperature for 67 degrees. The unit's LCD screen reports that it is 65 degrees inside the humidor. Using two previously calibrated HygroSet II digital hygrometers with one at the top and one at the bottom, I've noticed that the temperature will be about 1 to 2 degrees warmer at the top (66-67 degrees) than the bottom, and the humidity is about 3% more at the bottom. Even when I switch the hygrometers, they change to reflect this differential. The analog hygrometer that came already installed in the drawer seems to be accurate +/- 5 degrees. I dont like the temperature and humidity variance between the top and bottom of the unit, and think that this is just a side effect of it being hermetically sealed. After placing a Thermaltake Mobile Fan inside (power cable is flat placed between the door seals), this fixed the problem because it moves the air inside. So as to not dry any of the cigars out, the fan is plugged into a Westek timer which is programmed to turn the fan on for 20 min every 3hrs.
