The unit arrived in sturdy packaging and initial setup was as simple as plugging it into the wall. I was a bit nervous at first, as there was a bit of an odd plastic-like odor upon opening the unit door. I let the unit sit open for several hours while running the fans to clear the smell, and then seasoned the shelves and let sit for about 24-36 hours with boveda packs of my selected humidity (69%), and set at my selected temperature (70 degrees). Everything normalized in that time period, and has held steady for several weeks now. I added about 20 sticks after the first 36 hours, and within an additional day the unit developed the typical delicious aroma you'd expect. Unlike other desktop humidors I've tried that have very poor seals, this unit has maintained a very consistent humidity and temp level. Sitting in my home office, the summer temp fluctuates about 10 degrees from 72-82 during the workday, depending on my thermostat settings. The unit maintains the programmed temp throughout these fluctuations. My digital hygrometer has the temperature within .1 degrees of the units measurement, so accurate there as well. So from the perspective of control and consistency, everything has been solid. In terms of look and feel, the SS exterior is visibly appealing, and the blue internal light adds a modern and appealing look. On the downside, the unit has a very specific shelf setup that doesn't allow for variability. Not really an issue for me, as my collection isn't vast or extensive, but I could see this being an issue for someone with more boxes, whereas I tend to have more singles. Secondarily, the internal hygrometer has been a bit inconsistent. I've measured it against a trued digital and it was a bit off. After adjustment, it's gone off again; all in all, don't expect it to be spot on consistent (mine is off about 5% RH). Not a deal breaker by any means, but if there had been a digital hygrometer installed in place of the analog, I'd have easily given this 5 stars.

Took a little time to learn the basics but after a short time I got it working perfectly.
I bought this for my husband for Christmas and he loves it. It's perfect for his personal collection of cigars.

Bought this because I love in southern California where the temperature of the house is 75°+ year round. Was running my A/C just to cool my cigars. This beautiful piece has saved me time and stress. Works great.

I absolutely love my NewAir CC-100 Cigar Cooler! It is so much better than traditional humidors within my price range. It's air tight, so it's very low maintenance. The cooling feature lets you choose what temp to age your cigars and you don't have to worry about tobacco beetles ruining your stash! The unit has plenty of Spanish cedar inside. Every time I open it my girlfriend says she loves the smell. I followed the setup instructions with the addition of cleaning the plastic surfaces with baking soda and distilled water. Then I made sure to remove all the residue. I used the provided water tray to season the unit and now I have a gel system (purchased separately) to regulate humidity. It's always spot on! I get a 5% drop when I have the door open for a few minutes, but it's always back shortly after closing it. Currently I have 30 singles of various sizes I purchased as a sampler in the drawer. On the lower shelf I have 2 boxes of small cigars (4.2"x35). I have 90 sticks and still have two shelves unused! If you are into the massive ring gauge you will be able to store close to the advertised amount maybe a little less if you want to have good airflow. After hours and hours of researching my next humidor I'm so glad I chose this one. If you're on the fence just go for it you won't be disappointed! I did look at their bigger model, but I didn't have anywhere to put it right now. When the time is right I will get that one too!

This is a follow up to my previous review. After posting bad review support commented that I should contact them so they could make me a happy customer. After me having to send multiple emails back and forth with them, they came to the conclusion that the unit was bad and then wanted to charge me for the part, and I could try to change it out myself. I believe they should have replaced the unit, as this is two bad units in 18 months. I definitely do not recommend the product, but it seems others have had better luck than I.

This is the second one that I have purchased. Returned the first one because temperature would not go above 62 degrees. The second one will not go above 61 degrees. I have moved it from room to room and this did not help. My house holds at a steady 68 degrees, so it is not related to ambient temp. The unit has about a foot of clearance on all sides. I also did not receive a drawer. Have been calling customer support, but recording says that they are busy and puts me on hold. A few minutes later message says they are to busy please leave a message. Have not heard back from anyone yet.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Love this product so far. It took 3 days to get to the right humidity and has been keeping the correct temperature and humidity.
