I use my HX5 everyday at work. The zoom feature is perfect or seeing wide and narrow areas extremely bright and the hat clip feature is very nice when both hands are needed to work

The HX5 that was replaced under warranty has a switch cap issue that needs checked into, my replacement HX5 does not turn on all the time, i have to push the switch several times before in turns on.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Same great flashlight!

Bad side of it is, it ha the same defective switch that the first one had. I love this little flashlight, as long as it's working. However, I have to carry a second flashlight with me to back this one up when it quits working. It's a very temperamental switch that is installed during the manufacturing process, apparently. I have only had the replacement for 8 days, and on day 4, the tricky switch began to misbehave.
Great customer service though. They sent the replacement out within 4 days of my warranty claim. Too bad they sent a replacement with the same faulty switch.

The Flashlight that Started my Coast Journey

At the end of 2022, I decided to replace my aging, decades old Mag Lites. As a small Holiday present to myself, I decided to buy the Coast products HX5 LED flashlight from a local big box hardware store.
When I received it, I was thrilled to experience the quality of this little gem of a flashlight. The weight gave it a nice confident & balanced feel in my hand. Operation of the on/off switch was firm & decisive. Control of the beam w/the slide focus was intuitive & easy to use.
Overall, my first impression of Coast Products was strong enough to peak my curiosity and encourage me to explore the Coast Products web-site. As I told Bobby, in Customer Service, on a recent call, I am hooked & addicted to Coast Products! LoL! Coast Products simply ticks off all of the boxes that make them a company I will support w/confidence in my little corner of the world!

Extremely durable little light

This little light went through a snowblower and came up the other side still working. I use this daily in my job as a county correctional officer for use in the cell inspections and mouth checks at medication call.

Solid performing light

No 17-bullet dissertation or a “what I wish this light had” review. There are other lights with different features, sizes and lumens. If you had expectations that this light will burn out the retinas of local wildlife at 100 yards you bought the wrong light. This is not what it was designed for.
This is a solid, general-purpose light to toss in your center console, glove box, purse or backpack for any time you need light. This flashlight is well-crafted using quality components, and at an awesome price point. The 180+ lumens (battery dependent) provide good lighting in the immediate area and the smooth focus function performs as designed to evenly distribute the light from a spot to a soft flood. The multipurpose pocket clip allows clipping to the bill of a hat for hands-free illumination. Decently sized to use with gloves but small enough to EDC in a pocket, easy to operate with the simple tail switch and the smooth focus function.
