I purchased my HX5 flashlite 3 to 5 years ago because it only uses 1 AA battery and provides adequate light. The switch eventually quit working intermittently. Coast replaced the flashlite free of charge to me. Excellent Product. Excellent Customer Service.

One of the best flashlights I have ever owned. It is my daily go to light at my job. I carry it in my pocket at work. If I need to I can clip it to the bill of my hard hat which is quite often.

Great well-designed flash light

I am a facilities manager and this is a great small. but bright, flash light. It is small enough to slip in my pants pocket without notice. Its brightness is perfect for outside at night or inside dark crawl spaces in buildings. It is perfect for working on equipment in the dark (rooftop equipment at night) without blinding yourself.
The zoom in and out is easy and effective. Button control is easy ON/OFF. No silly strobe or SOS features that I never use but have to click through on other flashlights to operate them.
One great point is that it takes a single AA battery. No silly button batteries or loading up multiple batteries in a holder. Just one inexpensive AA battery. The battery lasts a long time too.
Another great point is the feature to clip to your ball cap visor. Real easy to do and stays there. I use this when I walk my dog at night. Perfect. No silly and uncomfortable headbands and straps.
All told, it is a great light. I have had mine for a couple years now. Very rugged and reliable.

Best light i have ever owned

I purchased my first one about four years ago , as an industrial electrician and maintenance man i needed a dependable light , clip to my hat , held in my and clip to my saftey glasses. . The battery last about one to two weeks , if it does not work I change batteries. Been dropped in hydraulic fluid a few times completely submerged still works. I now own two last one I purchased two years ago .

This the second HX5 I have purchased. The first light I have carried in my pocket everyday forever. So I decided I needed another one. The new one is a bit brighter and I decided to go with lithium-ion for rechargable. That makes even brighter due to the voltage increase. These lights are bright and the perfect size to carry in a pocket, so I am never without a quality flashlight.

I likw the HX5, its small enough for a pocket, the light is bright, and it you can focus beam. Only problem is they are not reliable. Had one for a week and the push button stopped working. Had a replacement sent and it worked for about a year and died.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
