stay far away! Only uses 1 style of label which is near impossibel to find. we will be changing asap

The DYMO LabelWriter 550 printer is compatible with various authentic DYMO Label sizes. Kindly visit dymo.com > Support > Label and Tape compatibility > Compatibility Chart for LabelWriter. Our Labels can be bought both online and offline from our suppliers.
In addition, the LabelWriter 5 series printers were designed to work with DYMO Authentic labels only, to prevent issues such as excessive feeding, label jams, and misaligned printing. Our labels will provide the best user experience.

Not compatible with Dymo Labels

We cannot get the Dymo 550 and 550 Turbo Label Printers to accept Dymo labels. These printers do not recognize the labels on real, not substitute or compatible Dymo labels.

Came in handy

Adequate at best for home use...

The 550 is adequate for my application but I am not at all happy that I am not able to use the inventory of older style labels that I have on hand. My older label printer will no longer work in the Win 11 environment and is no longer supported by the company, so I was forced to buy new and now forced to purchase all new labels that can be read by the 550.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Regarding the DYMO LabelWriter 550, it does use the updated DYMO Connect software, which offers a user experience similar to the previous software. However, the 550 model features an advanced label recognition technology to enhance printing accuracy and efficiency. While this requires the use of compatible labels, it is designed to ensure optimal performance and minimize potential errors.

Terrible and Glitchy Printer

This is a terrible product. It is soooooooo glitchy. Although it says that it will automatically recognize the labels that are in it, it rarely does. Today it doesn't seem to understand that it is FULL of labels. It won't print anything because it tells me that it is empty. Another time it won't connect to the computer. I spend more time trying to fix the latest problem than I do printing labels. I hate this product and would like a full refund so I can go find another label maker to buy.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I would not have purchased this if I knew that there weren't color options on the labels. I can get around the fact of being limited to use only Dymo Label Writer labels. But I cant understand how there arent color options labels available.
