Lock-in garbage

We initially upgraded from the Dymo 450 to the 550 turbo to get around needing printer servers for network printing. Any money we saved was quickly lost on the labels. The new Automatic Label Recognition system is nothing more than a lock-in scam. Each roll of AUTHENTIC dymo labels has a small RFID chip on the roll. Without that chip the printer wont recognize the labels. We already had cases of the labels we use from a third party vendor, which are better quality and 1/2 the price of AUTHENTIC dymo labels. We invested in 20 printers to learn we had to trash tens of thousands of labels.

To resolve this issue, we would recommend power cycling the printer by removing the power, labels, and USB cable. Press the power button 15 times. Re-connect the power and insert the labels, making sure they are aligned all the way to the left and the perforations are on your left side. Press the forward button to feed one label, then connect the USB cable and try to print a label.
Furthermore, if the steps do not work, we recommend cleaning the printer sensors by following the step-by-step instructions on our website, dymo.com > Support > Help Center > LabelWriter > How to Clean My LabelWriter 5 Series Printer. Then set your computer setting region to the United States.

Whether for home or office, this is the easiest setup I have ever encountered. Note you must do install before anything else! About to relabel everything in the home! Love it so much!
