Won't sort addresses alphabetically

I bought this 550 Labelwriter to replace a Labelwriteer 400. I was dismayed to learn that the 550 will not sort addresses alphabetically by last name. I have many contacts to keep in the Labelwriter file but this inability to arrange them alphabetically is a show stopper

We are sorry to hear that you are facing issues with our software. DYMO Connect could surely arrange the addresses in alphabetical order. Please make sure you have created address begin with no spaces. Also you import the whole address book from old software to new software as it is in same order. Labels don't work

Even authentic Dymo Labels don't work on this machine. It keeps saying No Labels Found error even though it is loaded with genuine DYMO labels

Our DYMO 5 series printers have been designed to work specifically with our genuine DYMO labels to prevent issues like excessive feeding, label jams and misaligned printing. Perhaps, you might be having old DYMO labels which are manufactured before April 2020 and they do not contain RFID chip in label rolls. If your label rolls are from DYMO and old DYMO labels, We would replace them with new label rolls for free of charge. However, your feedback is valuable for us to improve ourselves.

Does not recognize Dymo labels

Hello.
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused by our product.
LabelWriter 5 series printers are compatible with all DYMO Labels manufactured after April 2020, your labels are compatible with the LabelWriter 5 series if:
1. the packaging is blue, and there are two black dots next to the barcode. OR 2. the packaging is green with the recycling sign at the left bottom corner of the front part of the package.
If you do not have the box anymore, please check the core of the labels. If there is the DYMO logo inside, the labels are compatible with the LabelWriter 5 series

Unusable because of label requirement.

Like others have posted. Labels at Vets printing RX drug labels need to have pre printed custom labels printed to meet FDA laws. This makes this printer useless for us and many other places that require similar style labels. Dymo--making a good product that many want to use, can use, and is reliable will improve your bottom line, not forcing Dymo branded labels.

Frustrating waste of time and money

Bought this to replace an old 450. Have never been able to get it to work, after wasting countless hours. I even bought the new 550 labels. I'm getting one error after the other (label jam when there is no jam - the label threads fine when I press the forward/back button).
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

They discontinued the 440 model for the 550 and make it so you can't use other labels. Its just as bad as nespresso.

DYMO goes alone

DYMO has chosen the road taken by most printer makers, who are requiring branded ink cartridges, except that here it is DYMO only labels. Well, I doubt DYMO can replace our specific cryogenic labels. Too bad. This is a bad business decision for DYMO. We are returning the one we just bought today. BYe bye DYMO!
