Is there a negative star I can give?!? I've been through 3 of these. The first time it just quit working, wouldn't turn on. I chalked it up to the fact we've had it for a few years and we use it a lot, just bought a new one. Next one started registering a paper jam when there was no jam. Called the help line, they insisted there Must be a jam although there wasn't. They were ZERO help. Out of frustration I threw the printer away and got a different one. Now this one, less than 1 year old and it's doing the same, registering a paper jam. I'm Done. Come pick up your printer.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

It sucks! Let me pick my own label size!

I recently purchased this 5XL printer, to add to my arsenal of 4XL printers, that are no longer available in the line up. When printing postage, say using Stamps.com, the printer is set up wrong, and the programs don't even know you're trying to print to roll labels. In the Dymo Connect Program is shows the labels as being 4" long x 6" wide. Can't print anything, as it won't allow me to change it to the proper dimensions.

To select the correct label size in DYMO Connect, please click NEW and click the drop-down menu under Label Type then choose the correct label size. Please make sure the labels inserted are DYMO Authentic labels manufactured after April 2020.

Great label printer.. IF U HAVE A LAPTOP

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Let me start by saying which company thinks it’s a good idea to require a computer? Make this compatible with mobile devices!! We are reselling via mobile app, having to set it up on my MacBook really irritated me. And set up was very very very specific make sure you read directions!!

Make Business Easier

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Being a business owner of a small bakery, labels are extremely important to me! This DYMO 5XL label maker was exactly what I needed! I must by law label all of my ingredients along with other standard cottage-law notes. This XL thermal label maker has saved me time, money, and patience! First off, the label maker program is by far one of the best I've ever used. It was very simple to install but extremely important that you download the software before you plug in the device. The first time you use the program, it will send you through a tutorial. It is so simple to use, that I picked up on all of the program's features right away. Within a few minutes, I was speeding through designs and printing labels with ease. I love all of the characteristics of the application. From letting you know exactly how many labels are left, to being able to screen grab and drop, the DYMO label maker program has some really cool features to make any project professional quality. The program also comes with unique clipart and some really nice fonts to choose from. It is easy to align your work, add a barcode or QR Code to any label. The downside to this DYMO maker is you have to use their labels and only DYMO labels. Luckily, all the labels I have researched for the DYMO have been of reasonable cost. How cool is it to never have to buy ink again for labels? As a business owner this is very ideal and cost-efficient for me!

Decent Label Maker

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Dymo LabelWriter 5XL was convenient to use once I got it working. However, I found the instructions to be very confusing, as they did not really explain how to even load the special Dymo labels into the unit. I had to go on YouTube to watch tutorials on how to do so. Also, once I connected the Dymo unit itself to my computer, (via the included USB,) the Dymo Software that I had installed (prior to plugging the unit in) did not recognize its own labels in the Dymo LabelWriter 5XL Unit. The "on" button also kept blinking, indicating there was an error, and I could not seem to do anything to resolve it. I was very close to contacting Dymo Support as to why it kept giving me those error indicators, even though I inserted their Dymo brand labels into the LabelWriter 5XL Unit correctly. It was not until the next day that I was able to get it to work correctly, after uninstalling the Dymo Software, restarting my computer, reinstalling the software, and again opening the program, that I finally got it to recognize the inserted labels. Then, then printer would not print after I typed what I wanted into the Software! Not to mention, the software it crammed and a bit confusing to figure out. It was like one error after another! A few minutes later, I somehow got the unit to print. Upon researching this to see if these problems were common, I unfortunately found out that Dymo inserts a special "chip" or piece into the very inside of their special label paper rolls that ONLY allow your Dymo LabelWriter 5XL to work with their special, brand-name ones. So, it is a huge "con" to have to spend more on their special labels, as you are FORCED to do so if you want your unit to work! Buyer beware! Overall, I would NOT recommend this product! But, I would like to sincerely thank Influenster and Dymo for sending this product to me, as I will still be able to get a lot of use out of it!
