I am using a replacement machine sent to me by Dymo, but it too is one of the most unreliable computer products I have ever used. When it works, it prints well, and I am satisfied. But then it fails, giving misleading messages such as label jams and the like. The labels are never jammed. The problem seems to be with the printer's ability to communicate with the computer. It can print only one label at a time and then sends varying error messages. It too often wastes 4 or 5 labels in one printing, if it does work. I am taking it offline and taking it to the dump on Monday. As I said, this was a replacement product but it is no better than the original I purchased.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The issue you are encountering could be due to two possible reasons: the labels may not be properly inserted, or there could be a problem with the sensors responsible for stopping the labels after each print. We recommend double-checking the label alignment and ensuring you are using the DYMO labels, and also that the sensors are clean and functioning correctly. To clean the sensors, visit DYMO.com>Support>Help Center>How to Clean My DYMO Printer.

VERY Disappointing.

Was hoping to love this, but it ONLY takes Dymo branded labels with the RFID chip. How very Keurig of you. Not to mention, the driver won't even recognize HUNDREDS of files from the model of the 550 my coworker uses so I have to build from scratch.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

If you have saved files or labels on a different computer, we recommend saving them on a flash drive and then exporting them to the other computer. The DYMO Connect Software has an import feature that allows you to import the files. For more information on how to use DYMO Connect for Desktop, please visit help.dymo.com > Support > Software..
Furthermore, if you having any issues with importing data from excel or csv, kindly uninstall and reinstall the DYMO Connect Software version 1.4.3 using the instructions here: help.dymo.com > Software > How to completely uninstall DYMO Software.

Don't buy if you are a high volume seller.

Prints but the biggest issue is being stuck with the Dymo authentic only labels. Won't buy another Dymo printer ever again. If printing a lot of orders it will not tear the label cleanly and eventually jam. Then you waste multiple labels feeding through to trying to fix the printer.
Oh did I mention that the labels are waaaaay more expensive than other labels. Cash grab.

Easy to use and convenient

This label maker is convenient for those that need to print mailing labels. Installation was easy (though it does require you to download their software from their website). After a few minutes on my Windows machine (Mac download also available). The software started and immediately recognized the plugged label maker and installed labels (came with a tester roll of 50 labels). The software allows you to both add Text or pictures and you can edit as needed to fit the desired size. Once you send the label to print, it takes less than a couple seconds for the label to come out. Very well made and will definitely be using moving forward.

Total disappointment, why come out w/ a newer model when it's identical to the prior version?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This large format label printer from Dymo was nothing special. Nothing modern, nothing really new except for maybe a button and a plug-in. The size is comparatively bulky to similar label printers by other brands. It's even slightly larger than the 4XL, as I've shown in my photo. It's not compact at all. It takes up a lot of space & still has no modern-day wireless/Bluetooth abilities, so it still requires plugging into a connection source with a wire to work, which is definitely a negative aspect/lacking useful capabilities in my book. I was definitely hoping/wishing/expecting that exciting new feature to be released on the 5XL, but was sadly disappointed. Honestly I'm not sure why they even bothered to put out an official newer model since the look, size, and features it has are almost identical.
But wait, it even gets a bit worse than this. I have a fast modern desktop. More than one actually. They all have drivers & software up to date.
So, you'd think that access to actually use the printer ought to be easy, but if you thought that you'd be wrong. The product isn't user friendly or easy to upgrade from an older version of a product to the more modern one. I'm not sure if the troubles I was having were due to the fact that I already owned/operated/used a dymo label printer and already had Dymo labelmaker software installed on my devices, or if trying to use this product is just as hard for everyone else purchasing a Dymo label printer, but I literally spent several HOURS trying to troubleshoot my issues, with little to no success. And good luck getting any customer support to help you figure out this outdated, bulky, wired label printer. They are basically impossible to get ahold of anyone to help, let alone to assist you and help you get it to work beyond that.
Thoroughly disappointed with this product as I honestly thought that Dymo could have done much, much better here.
And as always, I deeply appreciate the opportunity to review these products I'm lucky enough to be sent. Thanks to influenster & dymo for the opportunity!

Great for small business owners or at home workers !

Thanks to influenster and DYMO my office needs have been much easier accessible and much more affordable to ship my small business products! It works great with my wifi and I have not had any connection issues! The speed of the printer and quality is an A + in my book! I have been really using this machine so much! I recommend this for any small business that is tired of paying for high postage costs! And I also recommend for college students that don’t have time to get to the post yet have a side hustle with DIY projects!
