Efficient and Helpful

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] LabelWriter 5XL is Amazing!! At first glance, I instantly hoped for a LabelWriter 5XL Manual. As I looked further in the box it indeed had a manual. Putting it together was easier than I thought, just follow the Manual. Oh, then the LabelWriter 5XL itself was amazing at how much it does! I used it for postage, addresses and labels the first Day. No issues of jamming up. So if your looking, I highly recommend the LabelWriter 5XL! So Enjoy!

Buy if you want to be frustrated

I am not sure how Dymo can continue to get away with this. I thought the 4xl was terrible. I didn't think it could get any worse. It does. DO NOT BUY. The printer will work and print 1 label. But then chooses not to print the next. Error. No explanation. Just Error. I successfully print 1 label per 25. Sometimes in order to get it to work I have forward the labels, wasting 2-3 before it will print. Their software is also from Windows 98. I have installed, uninstalled several times. I am going to send a note to Shopify to remove Dymo as a recommended product. I'm the sucker for buying their products.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Good printer for what it does...with one caveat

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This label writer is pretty straightforward, in a good way. It does what it supposed to do, does it well, and does it efficiently. I love that it's a thermal printer, meaning no ink needed. Setup was nice and easy - just download the Dymo software, plug in the power and connect it to your computer USB. Pop the roll of labels on the spindle, drop the spindle into the printer, use the advance feed button to get them into the right starting position, a couple mouse clicks, and you're ready to go. There are a lot of customizable features once you begin to create labels. I wouldn't consider myself a heavy shipper, maybe 5-10 items per week, but the ability to add bar codes, QR codes, serial numbers, basic pictures/logos, text design adds a lot of value. The screen layout of the label is nice as it prints exactly what you see and the thermal printing is nice and dark with no smudging. It prints plenty fast enough for my needs, maybe 2-3 seconds, and can probably easily fire off a couple dozen per minute. It also shows you within the software how many labels are remaining on the roll. I've printed USPS, FedEx, and UPS labels all without issue on nice 4"x6" self-adhesive labels. I do like that it's very simple to print one label, without having to load a whole sheet into my desktop printer. While it is not a wireless printer, it does have network connectivity, but it is wired and will have to be in proximity to your router or network port. The labels are not perforated in between but there are teeth in the feed opening to allow you to pull and tear in the appropriate spot very easily. If you're printing multiple labels at the same time, they will come out in one continuous strip. Now the caveat...it should be noted, the printer ONLY takes Dymo brand labels (per Dymo). Third-party labels of any kind will not work. I have not tried, as I don't ship large quantities of packages. The Dymo labels work just fine for me. It just may not be the most cost effective if you need to purchase larger quantities of labels.

Great label printer!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This label printer works great. It was easy to set up and start using right away. Print job is clean and quick. Two features that stood out is the automatic label recognition and that there is no need for ink or toner! Keep in mind, this machine only works with authentic DYMO labels. Package includes the printer, extra large shipping label starter roll, power adapter, power cable, and a USB cable. Overall, great results with this printer.

Easy to use and handy little machine

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It is amazing how often I find myself using this label maker. I knew that I would be using it to print address labels but have been using it for so much more. I have labeled boxes that I have put into storage, file folders, tool boxes, and I could go on. It couldn’t be more easier to use, just be sure to throughly read through the instructions and install the software before ever plugging it into your computer. It is also noteworthy to mention that it will only work on a Mac or a computer that uses a windows operating system.
