This unit replaced an older ups unit of another brand. this one is quite satisfactory. there is a slight heat rise but only because the unit has a transformer in it. The USB monitoring circuit doesn't work very well- not set up for win 8-8.1.

Great piece of equipment

I use it for my TV, DVR, PS3, AV Reciever, Blue-Ray player. Living in the country we get a lot of power fluctuations. Since I started using this, the power comes and goes, and everything plugged into it keeps playing like nothing happened.

In use since I received in mid-Jan 2016, backing up my PC, telephony router/modem combo, flatbed scanner, external HDD and computer telephone. I'm also using most surge only outlets for lesser peripherals. It's probably somewhat more than I need but better too much than too little. It has performed flawlessly here in Florida where Florida Power and Light is lovingly referred to as Flicker Power and Light. My power seems to go off and on at least once a day (just a small exaggeration but not much of one) and during storms or windy weather more often and for longer periods. I haven't had to make use of the PowerAlert software yet but have confidence it will perform just as well as the UPS. Definitely worthy of 5-Stars. I recommend it without hesitation.

I received this as a gift and I love it! It was very easy to setup and since I plugged in my devices I haven't given it a second thought. We recently had a thunderstorm that knocked out the power to my house for a short time and the unit worked perfectly, kicking in power without missing a beat so that my wireless internet would still work and the kids could play on their tablets until the power came back on. Great product and would recommend!
