Love this battery back up. Almost every computer in our office has this model, plus I use it at home too. Great to have a chance to turn everything off properly when there is a power surge/wane/outage before losing vital information. Can't beat the warranty either. I really like APC's green return policy too!

Just used down in the basement to keep the router, switch, and DirecTV power inserter connected during outages. It seems to be doing that okay.

BE550G network compatibility

I use APC to protect my computer and TVs here in Florida and never had problems. I do have a question on the BE550G data protection. The documentation says RJ45 10/100 Base-T Ethernet protection, does this include CAT6 gigabit?

I am very happy with APC products, they do protect everything plugged into them. I use them for my TVs, Computers even my modem/router. I hate brownouts ! Now I am using one on my home automation system

We use these units throughout our company and they work well. This was a replacement/upgrade for one with a battery that was going bad. We seem to get about 6 years + out of a unit before the batteries start to show signs of needing to be replaced.
In our areas they are a necessity as we get power outages and spikes enough that without them there could be some serious damage or loss.
