Several times each day, I am able to conveniently use the folding cycle to invigorate myself, as well as slowly lose weight, while being a couch potato, watching TV. Wish I had this twenty years ago! The low cost and small footprint were additional values of the cycle.

Helped me walk again.

First a brief story as to what happened to me. I went into the emergency room Jan 5 2016 with pain in my upper back. After xrays I was sent to another hospital where surgery was done the next day to remove as much of a tumor as my surgeon could. The tumor had wrapped itself around the Thoracic number 9 and had caused a compound fracture. Because of where the tumor was and the surgery that had to be done I was not able to walk any longer. I was not paralyzed, but had lost the ability to control my legs and they were now numb. I also found out that I have cancer, but that had nothing to do with my ability to walk.
After spending 2 weeks in the hospital, and doing a little bit of physical and occupational therapy, I was sent to a Nursing/Rehab facility to do some more therapy. After 3 weeks of physical and occupational therapy I was sent home because I had reached my maximum potential. At home I was able to have therapists come to my home to do of course therapy again. Within 4 weeks I had once again reached my maximum potential until I was able to walk again.
Honestly, that is all I wanted to do was walk again and get some type of freedom. I moved in with a relative which had a place upstairs. Since I couldn't walk I also couldn't go up and down stairs. So to get out of the house I had to go up and down stairs on my butt. Very long and sometimes painful experience, and then into my wheelchair to be driven where I needed to go. Chemotherapy, radiation treatment, shopping. You get the picture. After spending 5 1/2 months in a wheelchair I was feeling pretty defeated and wasn't sure I would ever be able to walk again.
One day I was laying in bed, I did that a lot since my only option was the wheelchair or the recliner, picked up my leg and noticed that I had no calf muscle. I thought to myself that there would be no way I would ever have the leg strength to walk again even if I wanted to with no way of being able to support my body. I began thinking of how I was going to be able to get the muscles back in my legs without being able to stand or walk. I then remembered that the in home physical therapist had a portable folding bike she would bring to my house and have me do a little bit of therapy with it. I did some research online and found the I have now. I started out using it 1 hour day. I could not stop using it. I kept increasing my usage and tension everyday and noticed my calf muscles getting stronger. After using it everyday, sometimes 3 hours a day, for 1 month, I decided to try and walk. I DID IT. I started out with only a few steps, then as I felt stronger kept going. I can now walk through my house without the using any help, if I am outside due to the uneven ground I use forearm crutches. I can go up and down stairs holding onto the railing, but using my legs and walking up and down as you normally would. I can now drive my own vehicle. Go shopping, go visit my family, drive to my doctor appointments, and just recently am going back to work part time.
The bike had given me the strength and confidence I needed to be able to walk again. I would not have even tried to walk if I had not built up the muscles in my legs and arms. I have used it so much that I will probably have to buy another one soon since I might have worn this one out. I just wanted to let you know how much I love this bike. It has made the difference between still being in my wheelchair and being able to go back to work. Thank you for 'listening'.

I bought this as an additional exercise option. I either ride my hybrid bike or walk the local track, daily, in the mornings. When the weather is bad, I have a stepper. As you can see, I do believe in exercising. (FYI-- I am 63). But I found myself needing to do something in the evenings to counteract my dinner meal. I was falling asleep too quickly, once I set down. I looked for this type of machine and am very happy, thus far, that I chose this one! It is very well made and very minimal installation: attaching two knobs and the monitor. I sit in a straight chair and just cycle. You can adjust the tension to your liking and read or watch tv, etc. No stress on your joints and you go as long as you want (I do about 30 min.) I LOVE IT! ONE TIP: I have wood floors, so it would slide somewhat, but I solved that by going to Wal Mart's hardware dept and purchasing "Gripper Pads"-- 2 1/2", 4 pieces for $3.94 (blue package) and my problem was solved! (Attach the gripper pad to the Cycle, center it.) NO MORE SLIDING!

I'm really happy that I purchased the folding cycle. It's easy to use and there is no straining involved. I use it on the table for my arms and on the floor for my feet and legs. It easy to adjust for a easy or intense workout. It is also very light weight to move about.
