I have had several paper shredders in the past. I finally purchased the Fellowes PowerShred 79Ci. It is amazing. Jam proof, super quiet and durable. I would recommend this product to anyone needing a quality paper shredder.

I just recieved my shredder, so I can't say it will last forever. However, it's quite impressive. It runs quiet and it feels like the motor weighs over 20 lbs.I've burned up 2 or 3 shredders in the last 10 years. Every time getting a little better than before.I'm convinced that this one will go the distance.As they say you get what you pay for.

Shredder Decision

Our old Fellowes shredder finally gave out, after well over 5 years of service. After handling several estates and all the paper shredding that entails, we knew we wanted a sturdy, dependable, non-jamming and quiet new shredder. Quality and value were important to both my husband and me. We knew we wanted to choose another Fellowes brand shredder, since our old one was a workhorse. After checking several retail websites and reading many online reviews, we decided the 73ci model had what we wanted. Fortunately, that model was on sale at the local office supply store, and they were happy to match the price of a local competitor. We got the new 'fellowe' home, plugged it in, and got to shredding. Setup was simple, and we were shredding in minutes. We were immediately impressed by the quietness during its operation, as well as the safety features on this model. It's funny how excited a couple can get by buying a new, quality shredder for a reasonable price!!! We expect to get many years of service out of this fellowe, and value the 2 year manufacturer's warranty, too. Great choice for home use (or small office) if you shred almost daily and need a durable model. We would have selected a light beige color if offered (shows less dust we are sure!), but the black is okay. The design is sleek, too. You can feel confident making this selection and we will recommend this model to others. The bulldog image shown on the box aptly described the 73ci !!!

Purchased new. In use approximately two months. Works well. No jamming problems so far. Shut down after two minutes of non use is a nice feature. Besides quality, safety features are the reason I purchased a Fellowes shredder. First time I used the recommended plastic bag which makes it easier to empty. The only negative I have, I should have purchased the micro cut instead of the cross cut. The only reason, is my last shredder was a micro cut and I believe it shreds better.

I have only one issue and it has to do with the casters (wheels) they do not go on very easy and they do not stay in place. Would have liked to just be able to snap them in and be done with it. Other than that issue the shredder works great.
