Power Button Fails Early

Fellows does not sell parts that are replaceable. The power button started giving trouble after six-months and we should have returned the shredder, but didn't. The button got worse and worse and the shredder is no longer useable. A product is only as good as it's weakest link.
Pros: Jam Resistance, Safety Features, Secure Cut Size, Sheet Capacity, Shreds Credit Cards, Staples and CDs
Cons: Quality Construction, Mess Reduction, Warranty, no repair parts

The Perfect Office Shredder

We purchased Powershred® 79Ci to use in our small but growing tech company. We are extremely happy with the performance of this shredder. It's very quiet and does a great job of quickly dispensing our documents. We mostly use if for shredding paper documents and have never had a paper jam. I would definitely recommend this product to others.

My second shredder

I bought this shredder based on my experience with a older model I purchased a number of years ago. So far it seems to be working very well. It has more safety features than my other model. I am pleased so far.
Pros: Quiet Operation, Shreds Credit Cards, Staples and CDs

Casters need work

Thank you for your review! The casters should simply push in, but sometimes it may require a bit more pressure. Please do not be afraid to apply extra force or use a rubber mallet to lightly tap each caster into place. Another viable option would be to insert the castors before turning the cabinet upright and attaching the head and basket. Once you have the unit assembled, apply pressure to the head of the unit by pressing downward. The pressure that you apply to the top of the machine will help push the castors into place. The key to the caster installation is the “click”. This sound indicates that the casters are properly installed and secured and should no longer fall out!

Great and safe shredder

PowerShred 79Ci is just what I needed...I have tried other brands and was disappointed! This shredder I can use without any problem and I have arthritis in hands and am over 70yrs old! My grandchildren like to help me shred and it safe for them too! So glad I found this shredder for all the papers I must shred like mine and my relatives personal papers! It really is the "World's Toughest Shredder"!

Bad power switch

I bought my PS-79ci shredder about 8-1/2 years ago. It worked great for the first few years but they it got hard to turn on. After a few tries with the switch it would finally start but over the last few years it has taken more tries with the power button to get it to turn on. Now it won't turn on completely at all. It will momentarily light up and stay on for about 2-3 seconds but then turn off. This is poor quality to me. Even thought the shredder is 8-1/2 years old I haven't used it to its full potential. Not even close. I have probably emptied the bag about 3 times per year so the shredder really didn't get used like it is built to be used. For that reason I don't think there should be any problem with the switch or turning it on and keeping it on.

Excellent Shedder

This Home/office shedder (79Ci) has proved to be the best shredder I have ever purchased. I have NEVER had any sort of issue with this shedder which I purchased roughly 6 months. It never jams, is able to shred CD's and credit cards with a sense of total ease. IF you are looking for a shredder I highly recommend this product!!
