This is my fourth paper shredder I have owned. The other three were horrible products, frequently getting plugged up with paper shreds, jamming, and just stopping. On top of that the office was always filled with dust from the shredding process. Based on my use of the Fellowes 79Ci so far, this may just be my last purchase! It performs exactly as advertised. It is quiet, gobbles up paper, is near impossible to jam, and the shredding mechanism never needs cleaning or unplugging. Fellowes gets an A++ on this product !

Great Shredder

We've only had this new shredder for a few days, but it works perfectly. Our previous shredder jammed all the time, and just quit working after about a year of using it. This product has not jammed yet, is easy to use, and has a fair warranty (unlike our old machine).

79Ci Shredder

Overall the 779Ci is a good product. The only problem I can see is that the Pull Out Bin indicates full too soon and requires opening the bin, compressing the contents and re-seating the bin several time before the bin is actually full.

Very impressed with this shredder

I haven't had it very long but so far it is great. I was impressed by the heftiness of it. IT is solid and well made. From box to office in less than 5 minutes and I was shredding everything I could find to shred. LOL It chewed through everything I had to give it in fast time. And each and every page was shredded fully. No chunks of unshredded stuff in there. The pieces were plenty small enough to prevent anyone from putting anything back together, The operation is simple and easy, it is nice and quiet for such a large shredder and it whips thru cards and CD's like they were paper. This was NOT the least expensive one I looked at, for sure, but I do not regret spending a little more on this one. I would highly recommend this shredder and I don't do that often.

Serious Shredder

I recently moved up to the next level in Fellowes shredders because I needed a more heavy-duty machine (for home use). With the 79ci, I have been able to tackle a backlog of paper with ease. The pull-out paper bin is a major improvement over the one that required the motor to be lifted off the bin for emptying. I highly recommend this shredder to anyone who has a tendency toward paper-clutter. It's also surprisingly quieter than my old machine.

Impressed so far

I actually had a new Fellowes shredder that was only a few months old. I bought that one to replace one accidentally damaged by a relative. Unfortunately, it was smaller and had fewer features than I really wanted. It was a spur of the moment purchase.
I stumbled across some reviews of the 79Ci recently and was impressed by the number of positive user reviews I saw on several websites. I decided to order one and I just got it today.
I used it for about 20 minutes straight right out of the box and in the process, I overloaded it a couple of times. It reversed and recovered very quickly. I'm also very pleased about how quiet it is compared to my previous shredder! I actually shredded a bunch of documents while watching a TV show and I could still hear the dialogue! Very impressive!
Based upon what I've experienced so far, I expect this machine to be quite capable and reliable. Time will tell.

The best shredder I've owned

I am very impressed with this shredder.
I bought it to replace a shredder by a different company that didn't last. This Fellowes shredder is very quiet, appears very strong and of high quality as well. It's just the right size for my home/office. I'm glad I bought this shredder. It's the best I've owned.
