The 79Ci is the best shredder I've owned. It is truly jam proof, quite and child safe. The switch on the pull out bin could use some work. If the bin is not pushed all the way in the shredder will not run. The casters on the bottom of the machine make it difficult to push the bin in and activate the micro switch. Even with the bin issue I would reccomend this shreder to anyone needing a shredder for home or small office use.
The choice of a 79ci was based on the recommendation of Fellowes Tech support. It does everything I was told and does it well. It is quiet, and handles multiple sheets with no sign of bogging down. I especially like the lighted effort feature because it lets you know how close you are to max number of sheets.
Pros: Quiet Operation, Sheet Capacity, Quality Construction, Warranty, Shreds Credit Cards, Staples and CDs, Service Guarantee, Safety Features, Secure Cut Size, Jam Resistance, Mess Reduction

My Experience of 79Ci Shedder

Fellowes producted an excellent shredder, it is jam proofed, because I tried to put more papers to shred than I was suppose too. The papers stopped, moved up by shredder and then resumed. It worked like clocked work. Very please. My only grip was the bin, it could be a little more taller. But other than that, it's an excellent machine.
Pros: Quiet Operation, Sheet Capacity, Quality Construction, Warranty, Shreds Credit Cards, Staples and CDs, Safety Features, Secure Cut Size, Jam Resistance, its reliability
Cons: could be a little taller

Just purchased the unit to replace a Xerox unit. It is very quiet and seems to be very powerful. The little I have used it to date it has worked well and meets all my expectations.
Pros: Quiet Operation, Quality Construction, Jam Resistance

Really Quiet

I was looking a shredder that could live up to the hype. They all say they can handle 6 sheets, 9 sheets etc. So far, this unit can handle the 15 sheets they claim; and it doesn't sound like a box of rocks while it is doing it. One suggestion, I wish there was some on board storage for the lubrication bottle that is supplied with the unit. By the way, lubrication is a great idea. This is the first shredder I've owned that said anything about lubricating the cutters.
