Good Product for the Price

Overall we are very pleased with this shredder, the only negative we have found it that the bin is rather small and needs to be emptied frequently.
Pros: Quiet Operation, Sheet Capacity, Quality Construction, Shreds Credit Cards, Staples and CDs, Safety Features, Secure Cut Size, Jam Resistance
Cons: small storage bin

Fellowes PS-79Ci shredder

I cannot speak to endurance, because I've only had this shredder for a few weeks. I do love, it, though. My last shredder was also a Fellowes but with few features and a smaller container. After a year, it stopped working properly (had to continually move the backwards, forwards mechanism to get it to slowly take the two pages it would shred). This one takes multiple sheets and corrects itself (moves briefly backward) when it begins to jam. Consequently, so far, it is jam-proof. It lets me know if I am putting too many sheets in. It does make some noise, but less than some and not distasteful. So far, I am very pleased.
Pros: Quiet Operation, Shreds Credit Cards, Staples and CDs, Safety Features, Secure Cut Size, Jam Resistance, it's fun and easy to use
Cons: haven't found them yet

Great shredder

This is my first time purchase Fellowers shredder. It is a good price and exellent product. It is quieter than I expected. I try out the jam feature and indeed it works. However, the shredder does not shred as I expected. I like to shred a little finer but the cost is way too expensive.

No More Tears!

I just purchased a PS-79Ci. The display model had the protruding plastic that would rip a collection bag. Do to the great reviews I decided to buy it anyway. When I got home and pulled out the receptacle. to my surprise, there was no protruding plastic to tear a plastic bag. I also read the review that claimed, the unit would not shred a thick envelope. So I tried it. It did not work well. Then I reversed the envelope out and looked inside. In my case, the envelope contained: The original envelope, a return envelope, 2 tri-folded letters and 4 single sheet envelope sized ads. If you count an envelope as 2 sheets of paper this thick envelope contained, really 14 sheets of paper. Keep in mind a tri-folded letter would count as 3. This was a pretty thick envelope. It barley fit inside the feeder. Thick envelopes is not the reason I am purchasing this unit. I generally open the envelope and shred the portion(s) that someone might sign your name to and send back to to accept the company's offer.
Hope this helps with your decision. Keep in mind that there are probably some old model shredders out there with protruding plastic. You may want to check before buying if possible. Yes, I am very happy with this shredder and it is very quiet.

I really enjoy my shredder. It does all and more for my office needs. It is the Greatest Value & Purchase & Performance I have ever made for my office. Everyone enjoys using it . We have never had any issues with our shredder's perfomance. I would recommend Fellows Shredders to everyone. Thank you Fellows!!

Purchased the PS-79Ci to rplace an older model that overheated too often. This new machine seems to run forever B4 overheating. My older machine was a strip cut and this new model reduces the paper to a much smaller size and is easier to bag.
So far, Great Machine! My only complaint is the size of the waste container and the height of the shredder. Make it taller!

Shredder of my Life

This shredder is worth what the price said. I have never had a shredder that was quiet and not loud like the previous one that we purchased. I like that the "safe sense" lights up when you touch the plate. I like the basket that you can dump the shredded paper. I truly don't have to use the bags, it is just so easy just to take it to the trash box and empty it. This is the shredder of my life.

I HAVE OWNED A FEW OTHER SHREDDERS AND THEY HAVE BEEN THE MOST AGGRIVATING TO USE. I HAVE THROWN THEM AWAY AND PURCHESED A NEW ONE, LOOKING FOR A BETTER WORKING MACHINE. I HAVE FOUND IT. THIS ONE DOES A GREAT JOB. NEVER JAMS, RUNS QUIET. I AM SURE I WILL NOT REGRET THIS PURCHASE.
