Best shredder I've ever owned!

I believe in security and have been shredding my personal information at home for many years. I purchased the Fellowes PS-79ci to replace another brand. I'm hoping that this machines lasts longer than the previous machine. The Fellowes PS-79ci is quieter, but the basket is smaller than the previous, but so far I'm happy with my purchase.

Outstanding stroke of luck

I work in a tax preparation office serving nearly 1000 clients. Security of client records and especially destruction of the same is of vital importance. Because I am basically an impatience person and like most am usually rushed, I found this shreader prevents jams by warning and limiting the overloading of doccuments. Jams not only frustrating but time consumming as well. Should the necessity arrise to replace the shreader my choice is already made. And to top off the stated feature the shreader operates nearly soundlessly, important in a crouded office.
Pros: Quiet Operation, Jam Resistance
Cons: none that i have encountered

Great Shredder

I bought this because I was tired of jams and broken down shredders. I use my shredder mostly to shred mail with my personal info on it. but at the end of the year i use it to shred a lot of old papers and old bills. while this isn't a frequent task it is an important one and one I don't want to spend weeks doing. It was important to me to find a durable shredder that would not jam and let me get this job done as quickly as possible. this shredder does that in spades!

Wonderful shredder - if a shredder/machine can be wonderful. Haven't had any problems yet. Lives up to all its attributes. Happy with my purchase.

This is my third paper shredder, all of them Fellowes. This last purchase is much better than the others. I like the way the paper goes in, the safety feature and especially the thickness meter to prevent jams. The ease in empting the basket is also a plus.

We just purchased this shredder with the purpose of shredding about 16 yrs. worth of worthless documents. It did a super job. It's quiet and is jam free as claimed. You do have to let it rest a little every 15 mins. of continuous use or it will shut down(added feature). We love it and will recommend it to our friends and family.

Cons: Mess Reduction, all shredders are a little messy when emptying

Sorry. I would not recommend this model.
I am very disappointed in this new shredder.
It has a difficult time shredding 6-7 papers at a time.
Forget putting a credit card through it.
This is absolutely not the shredder for an even semi-busy office. However it may be useful for home shredding daily junk mail two or three sheets at a time.

Cleaning out of cutters is necessary to maintain optimum performance and cut quality. This can be done simply by cycling the cutters from reverse to forward to reverse a few times.
