Finally, a jam-proof shredder!

I've used quite a few shredders and have been disappointed by how easily they jammed, how hard it was to clear the jam, and how quickly they burned out - the Fellowes PS-79Ci seems to have solved all of that. Thank you for smart blade design that shreds rather than entangles. The large sheet capacity is also appreciated as it drastically reduces the time it takes to shred large amounts of documents.

Being a teacher, I am bombarded with tons of letters and paper that I truly do not need piling up and of course mail wth confidential numbers, etc. on them. I love takiing the time to finally go through what I want to get rid of and can just press the button and get rid of the dreadful piles of paper. I have an office in my home now, and the shredder fits compliments the environment. the 2010-2011 school year is going to be organized, clean and run efficiently. I thank my mom and sister for investing in this product.

Sweet shredder

Just purchased the PS-79ci today and shredded a pile of paper.
The first thing I noticed was the quiet operation which was a welcome relief after the last shredder I owned was very loud. The only reason for replacing it was because the screws literally fell out of the internal mechanism and the gears became damaged and it quit shredding. I can't remember the brand of the old shredder, but it was definitely poor quality.

Excellent Home Shredder

Handles 10-12 pages, with staples, with ease. Indicator lights reveal whether you can insert even more pages, or if there are too many for the shredder to handle.
Credit cards and CD's are easily shred.
The bucket can be fitted with a plastic bag, or left without. As with most shredders featuring a removable bucket, bits of paper can be found behind the bucket after a shredding session. My handy Dust Buster cleans this out with little effort.
The only negative would be the relatively low capacity of the waste bucket. However, I prefer the overall small size of the unit compared to one with a larger waste capacity.
The operation is very quiet.
Additional buttons select reverse and manual mode.
I can highly recommend this shredder for home or home office use.

BUY IT & LOVE IT!

OMG!!!! In our busy dental practice, by law, we have to shred anything that may have private, patient information on it. With our Model PS-79Ci, we can place up to 13 sheets at a time!!!! Talk about a time saver. It is solid, sturdy and BEST OF ALL -----QUIET. Another nice little "bonus" was that it came with castors, so now it's easy to move around as needed. I can't say enough great things about this QUALITY product. Don't waste time looking around - JUST BUY IT! You'll be glad you did.

Excellent Machine

This shredder is excellent! It is quiet, yet powerful, and does its job! Whether I am shredding one piece of paper, or 10, the PS-79Ci makes my day! And it fits very nicely under my desk where I can wheel it out when needed, and push it under when I don't! This shredder is a class act!

great workhorse for personal/home office use

I did lots of internet research on shredders before buying and found this model the best for my price range. I have had Fellows models at work and they worked great, but these were expensive commercial models.
This is my fourth or fifth shredder I have owned. Some were Fellows and the first few were other brands. This model arrived at my door a few days before promised and was completely set up and ready to go...no wheels to install!!!
I am using this shredder to destroy about 4 + years of tax receipts/files this summer and expect this to be a simple job. So far, no jams and no hassels.
Pros: Sheet Capacity, Quality Construction, Shreds Credit Cards, Staples and CDs, Safety Features, Secure Cut Size, Jam Resistance, completely set up and ready to go
