An excellent choice for our office

For years we have worked with a small strip shredder, but a new Massachusetts law requires a crosscut type, so we did research and this got terrific reviews. The one issue they all mentioned was its noise level, but the price was right and we figured we could deal with noise for the few minutes at a time we use it.
It arrived well packed and the instructions were quite approachable. I set it up, applied the oil as instructed, and sent the test page through. Surprise! It is much quieter than our old shredder. I don't know what those reviewers were talking about.

A Real "Bulldog"

My Fellowes PS-79Ci has turned out to be the best shredder that I have owned. It truly performs like the Bulldog on the Fellowes logo. It is compact and rugged! I particularly like the "Safety Sense Technology" since my grandchildren frequently visit my office. This is the beginning of a wonderful relationship. I highly recommend this product.

Very good

Our Daughter came home from 5 years in South Korea where she was teaching . She had a box of papers that needed to be shredded and our ould shreder had just stopped working right before she came home We needed a new shredder right away and found the fellows PS 79 C For seveal days we shredded Other then when the bin was full and having to clean off the shredder part this shredder has been a work horse So far we are pleased with it

I am extremely satisfied withmy Fellowes c 3 shredder. It cross cuts very well and does not jam. It is worth every penny.

Overall this is the best shredder that I have purchased. It's strong and with small children around I have no fears of them being around it with the safety stop.

I've had several cheap shredders over the years and have usually beaten them up. I can see why this model doesn't jam;you have to BABY it. After paying almost 10 times as much as the cheapies, I expected lightning speed and ease of use. Instead I got a unit that has all kinds of safeties and is hard to load. I immediately shut off the "safe sense" and load indicator. The sensing switch is so tight that it's very difficult to get a sheet into the shredder. It does have power but doesn't have any speed unless you consider that you can load several sheets at once without slowing down. It doesn't really cross/cut the sheets either. I could easily put together a shredded page as it does an interrupted strip shred. (long strip with pseudo random cuts) The recommended usage is only about 50 times a day. The 'bin full' light is nice as it precurses getting the blades jammed with the shredded dross.

The PS-79Ci is a Cross-Cut machine, which is a Level 3 of security with particles 5/32” x 1-1/2”. If you are looking for a higher security level, we offer several Micro-Cut shredders (Level 4) ranging from deskside to commercial.

First time purchase, built to last

the PS-79Ci has worked well since purchased 3 months ago
it has delivered on all promises including number of sheets
(capacity) and auto shut down for extended operation (over-working) and still works fine.

I had a prior Fellowes that lasted over 20 years. This one is 1/2 the price and does a lot more. We are extremely pleased with the shredding unit. The basket could be a bit larger as flls up quickly and machine stops when it is close to top.
