Good Machine

I bought the shredder to replace a shredder (Fellowes) that I had pretty much worn out. I was looking for quiet operation and high "run time vs rest time". I also wanted a crosscut shredder. The PS-79Ci seemed to meet these criteria at lower cost than others I looked at. I could have bought any of several shredders at less cost but they all were significantly noisier and the advertised rt/rt was much less.
Pros: Quiet Operation, Quality Construction, Shreds Credit Cards, Staples and CDs, Safety Features, Secure Cut Size

The bin is far smaller than the other one - so it has to be emptied more often.

Good investment

This shredders' performance is outstanding. I and other family members use it on a daily basis. With proper,simple maintenance instructions to follow, this shredder is functioning at optimal levels. The most important features I look for in a shredder is safesense technology and jam proof systems. I have no regrets for purchasing this shredder.

The shredder seems to work well, but the refuse basket is on the small side and doesn't have a way of easily using a trash bag liner.

Amazing Shredder

This is hands down the best shredder I have ever owned. It gobbles up reams of paper, cd/dvd and credit cards. In addition the packaging is environmentally friendly.

Worth Every Cent

In the past two years I've gone through three shredders. During this period of time, I've spent an inordinate amount of my time dissecting the jammed paper out of the blades, only to have to do it again after only a few uses. The blades on these other shredders would bend and break and the motor would lock up and start emitting smoke. There was no adequate customer service or warranty. Essentially, the performance of these other shredders was poor from the beginning and the equipment was disposable.
Not so with my Fellowes Shredder! Although I spent slightly more than the individual cost of those other brands, I am confident, even after only a couple of weeks of use, that it will be worth every cent. In the event that something does go wrong, there's a two year warranty. I've already received great customer service just as a follow up for registering the product.
As I was unpacking the box, it was obvious that the quality of the Fellowes shredder exceeded the other products. It weighed about three times as much. However, due to the casters, it is actually easier to move than the ones that weigh less. There's practically no way to get injured on the blades because of the safety features.
My mother visited over the weekend and she tried out the shredder because, like me, she's had such poor experiences with other products. She was also favorably impressed and is anxious to purchase one of her own!
My only regret is that I didn't purchase one sooner. I wasted a lot of time trying to clean/fix those other products as well as money.
I fully expect this Fellowes shredder to last more than two years. But even if it doesn't, I will be pleased with the performance.

Excellent Product

This is a great product for home or business use. I tested several types of shredders at the store and none could compare to the PS-79CI. The other shredders were very loud. The Fellowes PS-79CI is well designed, easy to use and extremely quite. Its also a workhorse!!
