Set-up was simple - aside from having trouble getting the casters to lock. Found the trick was to wiggle a little bit and then a quick, deliberate push (or hard hit) – this is quite difficult for someone with arthritis. This is the fourth fellows shredder we have owned and we do not feel it is quiet. Our previous model MS-450C was much quieter. In fact, my wife has another desktop shredder on her desk which is much quieter than this one.

Thank you for taking the time to post a review on your new shredder, we are sorry that you are had difficulty with the installation of the casters. The casters should simply push in, but sometimes it may require a bit more pressure. Please do not be afraid to apply extra force or use a rubber mallet to lightly tap each caster into place. Another viable option would be to insert the castors before turning the cabinet upright and attaching the head and basket. Once you have the unit assembled, apply pressure to the head of the unit by pressing downward. The pressure that you apply to the top of the machine will help push the castors into place. They key to the caster installation is the “click”. This sound indicates that the casters are properly installed and secured. Thank you for choosing Fellowes!

Excellent product

I’ve been very favorably impressed with the 79Ci shredder’s performance. It is fast and is much quieter than other shredders I have used. The paper sensors are very useful and the storage bin is easily removed. The only problem is the Safesense safety light does not light when you touch the paper opening. The paper storage bin seems to fill very quickly, but a larger bin would of course mean the whole unit would have to be much larger. Overall I am very pleased with the 79Ci (except for the non-functioning safety light) , and would highly recommend this unit.

very nice handles paper well easy to empty all around one of the best looking and good features. also you dont have to lift the motor o empty.

Great Product!! Would buy Again

This is one of those products that you always need around the house. Those cheap ones that go for less than fifty dollars are a complete waste of time. We were tired of having to purchase one every year. This time we invested in one that will last. So far this thing really eats up everything. I like the idea that you are recommended to oil it periodically, that way it will keep on working. You don't need anything else if you're looking for a very good shredder to use at home or for a small office. This particular one does not hold a whole lot of so I would not recommend it for a full office or big business although it is built to take the abuse and keep on working. And it is very quiet when you use, just so you know.

Way to small for our small business

Shredder is way too small, and the suggested oiling--every time the bin is emptied--seems a bit much.The bin is difficult to snap into place
