I replaced a low cost Fellowes shredder with the PS-79Ci. I was hesitant to purchase another Fellowes shredder based on my experience with the first one I purchased. I had frequent jams and overheating with the first model. The new one is like day and night compared to the first one. It make shredding tasks a pleasure. I can't say enough good things about the CS-79Ci. It's a great product.
Pros: Quiet Operation, Sheet Capacity, Quality Construction, Jam Resistance

Best Shredder I've Owned

This is my third shredder and is the best yet. Quiet and effective. Time will tell if it lasts and does not jam.

Shred what you dread

I have many papers that I do not want anyone else to see, especially the ones that may get into the trash bag. Once upon a time I drove a Garbage Truck and to my suprise there were at least ten to fifteen individuals inside the trash dump ravaging through every piece of trash that was being pushed out of my truck. Sometimes escalating into fights amongst the participants. One fellow in particular that I talked to indicated that all he wanted was reciepts, telephone bills, ect., things that he could retrace from one household and attempt to steal their identification for illegal purposes. This woke me up!! I immediately purchased a Fellows Shredder and have never allowed any document to leave my home with any possibility of the dreaded fear of theft identy. Today society has become so knowledgeable and self motivated in the world of computers and their inate capabilities to develope strategies far beyound one's imagination that anything is possible--even the dreaded thought of being taken advantage of at some later date. During the past several years I have owned three different brands of shredders, however, the best one is the Fellows brand that I recently purchased. I am very pleased with its operation, and its capabilities which meet my demand load.

Best Choice

This is the second year that this product was offered in a silent auction at a church dinner we attended. I had tried for it last year, but not successfully. This year was different! I won!
I am so very pleased that I did win. Even my husband could see why I was excited about the quality of this item as soon as he opened the box.
He spent the next half hour shredding the items I had been accumulating to safely destroy. Identity theft once is bad enough, but three times is just absurd. We will never have that happen again with our Fellowes PS-79Ci.

Great Shredder - Bad Bin

The machine works great at shredding, but it takes me over 20 minutes to clean up from emptying the bin. This is because as you remove the plastic bag full of the shredded material it catches on the hooks on the back side and the shredded pieces start falling out.

Fellows PS-790Ci Review

Dear Sir/Madam,
I bought the above referenced shredder for my home office and are extremely satisfied with all aspects of the shredder. It allows me to shred just about any thing that I have a need for, while providing the utmost in safety features.
I will highly recommend this machine to any of my colleagues who have a need for this type equipment.

Clumsy, doesn't hold much, noisy, doesn't shred 12 pages as advertised. Manual is inadequate. Requires oiling every bag empty...Emptying is messy.

If the unit is having difficulty shredding up to its twelve sheet rated maximum capacity:
- It is possible the cutters may need to be cleaned of paper particles, which can sometimes occur during periods of heavy use. Cleaning out of cutters is necessary to maintain optimum performance and cut quality. This can be done simply by cycling the cutters from reverse to forward to reverse a few times.
Please also feel free to contact Fellowes Customer Service at 800-955-0959. We will work to resolve any remaining issues to your satisfaction.
