Shredder of quality

Sound construction. rolls well. Looking forward to a long use life. Bought to shred paper for compost pile.
Pros: Jam Resistance, Mess Reduction, Quality Construction, Shreds Credit Cards, Staples and CDs
Cons: only difficulty is rollers hard to get in.

Huge Improvement From My Previous Shredder

I purchased this shredder because I got tired of how my previous Insignia shredder would jam even when trying to shred less than it was rated for. The Fellowes 79Ci is much more powerful than my previous shredder and will even tell me if I am trying shred too much at once before it has a chance to jam It can also stop and back up really thick stuff automatically to continue shredding without me having to do a thing. Overall I am happy with this shredder. The only two items I would improve is the bin needs to be a little bigger and the automatic sleep mode is a little confusing. These aren't issues really but just a couple of improvements for future versions.

Cons: Secure Cut Size, bin a little too small

This is my second 79ci. My first one lasted 13 years. This one is even better with improved features. No need to turn on and very quiet. Very pleased with it.

So Far So Good

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Happy with the safety features for this shredder, I don't have to worry about one of my kids (3 under 3) messing with it. It's also very quiet and we can now shred at night without worrying about waking up half the house. I haven't shredded a ton of items, but definitely looking forward to never dealing with paper jams again.

Excellent shredder

This is my second Fellowes Shredder. The first one lasted more than 10 years, far exceeding my expectations. Without exaggerating, it probably shredded more than 55 boxes of paper and other miscellaneous documents over its lifetime. Fellowes shredders are very reliable and cost-effective. Would choose no other!

Quite quiet

I cannot address durability or warranty as I've only had it a month. It is very quiet compared to my 15 year old shredder that died. Shred size is not NOT secure, you can read complete 16 digit account numbers, full names and other supposedly secure data. The bin size is also rather small but that is manageable.

Cons: Secure Cut Size
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The cross-cut size for the 79Ci is 5/32" x 1-½ ” with a security level of P-4 which is a pretty secure level. The micro-cut shredders offer an even more secure cut.
