Hope this is as good as my old 64C

I just purchased a new 79Ci as a replacement for my old 64C which lasted about 7 years and was great until the motor finally burned out. Think I used it for too long a time and the indicator went Red and stayed red every time I tried to use if after that. The shredder would go backward for a second but never forward. I guess it finally went. However, when I had it for the approx. 7 years, I used it a lot and it always worked well. Just bought a replacement which is advertised as a little stronger so I am hoping that it will out last my lifetime. Fellows makes a great shredder and I have never been sorry with the performance but after retiring as a CPA I just had too many files and papers to shred over the years.
Pros: Quality Construction, Safety Features, Secure Cut Size, Shreds Credit Cards, Staples and CDs
Cons: Mess Reduction, Quiet Operation, Sheet Capacity

Clumsy Bag and Minimal Storage

This is the second Fellowes shredder that I have purchased for the office. This Fellowes shredder bags do not fit nicely in the receptacle. You have to really fight it to get the plastic liner bag to fit inside. The receptacle for catching shredded paper doesn't seem to work very well as it fills up very quickly again I think it is a poor design. I did just minimal shredding and I had to open the door and push the shredded paper down before I could continue. Not thrilled with this unit.

Satisfaction and Safety

Just replaced our Fellowes shredder with another new Fellowes shredder after using every day in my office for over 9 years. The other MAIN reason we buy Fellowes shredders is the fact it has the safety if anyone (small children or out pets or others with long hair, etc.) stops in and should accidentally go near this shredder it immediately stops. This should be a law that all shredders have this. I saw a video years ago when a dog got his tongue caught in a shredder and I never got over that site. Thank god not our dogs but regardless the thought that it can happen is more than enough reason to purchase only a shredder that has this safety feature. The replacement unit seems slightly upgraded with a timer that shuts the unit off if not in use a while and starts right back up if you insert a paper to shred (leaving that safety factor still in tack). The shredder is definitely a winner for all the above reasons

bought the 79Ci model of shredder because i need to shred 12 - 16 pages at a time. this is heavy duty and works great. glad i made this purchase. if you need a good shredder go with this one.

What a joy to use your paper shredder. A friend gave me a shredder made by one of your competitors. VERY frustrating to use, jammed constantly......the fellowes machine is a dream to use, well built, very very impressed with its operation!
