New Shredder

We just received our new shredder today. It was packaged well and very east to set up. Our first impression is that it is a very well made product that should serve our needs. recommended .
Pros: Jam Resistance, Quality Construction, Quiet Operation, Safety Features, Warranty

Bin switch flimsy and broken

New shredder arrived today. Much anticipated. Bin open light stayed on with bin in. Determined bin switch activated by plastic "blade" molded onto bin. It was, of course, broken off so no matter what you did, the bin switch never was able to be "closed". So, the new machine is basically a brick. Waste of money. Poor design.
Cons: Quality Construction
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

the printer was very easy to assemble. The students that shred for us found it very easy to use and it didn't jam up, we use the shredder for many hours a day and didn't have any problems with stopping or jamming! Great
Pros: long running no jamming

Sooo Quiet!

We had a DM12ct previously which was at least 8 years which performed amazingly well. It was powerful, and well built. This shredder is just as well built, has a great energy saving feature, and also is so amazingly quiet compared to the last one. The feed is slightly slower and it has a thickness sensor to prevent you from putting in too many sheets at one time. (With the old shredder, you wouldn't know it was going to jam until you had already put the paper in and it was feeding.) Overall a solid performer and with the Fellowes brand, you can't go wrong.

Eco-Friendly Packaging

I received the Fellowes shredder today. It was very easy to set up. And it's working great. It's replacing a Fellowes shredder that I had for about 10 years. I have been impressed by the continuing availability of the Fellowes customer support and by the reliability of the shredder itself. The new shredder has extra features and makes emptying the bin much easier. The main reason I'm writing this review today is to commend the way the shredder was packaged. Recyclable formed cardboard instead of styrofoam. I'm so grateful that the folks at Fellowes care. Thank you!

Solid Shredder 79Ci but stupid oversight.

The 79Ci supplied materials were incomplete. Four languages microprinted, but missing the absolutely necessary maintenance instructions- including oiling instructions. Very stupid oversight. Had to go online, download, and print. To me that equates to a ~$10 mistake for my time and effort. Solid performance but expensive realtive to a consumer purchase from China.
