I may never wear out this shredder. It is very well built and rolls easily on it's wheels. Extremely quiet operation.
Pros: Jam Resistance, Quality Construction, Quiet Operation, Safety Features, Secure Cut Size, Sheet Capacity, Shreds Credit Cards, Staples and CDs, Warranty, suitable for large shredding jobs
Cons: heavy due to well-built construction

Fellowes is the best

This Fellowes 79Ci is replacing a Fellowes PS 60CC shredder we bought in 1996, which has finally given up. If this new one lasts half as long, I will be happy. So far, the new shredder is living up to it's praises. The one small complaint I have is that the basket fills up too fast and I think that is because the cut size is larger than our previous shredder. It is quieter and safer to use. I wouldn't buy a shredder unless the Fellowes name was on it.

had other machines that jammed or overheated quickly. After taking the machine out of the box the instructions to assemble were straight forward and easy to follow. What a relief.Then I put the unit to work. The quiteness, capability of shredding and the non jamming may me a believer in this product and that I had purchased the right machine.Although I had the opportunity to purchase a less expensive machine, I hit the lottery on this purchase and recommend it to anyone looking to buy for the first time or replace.

Recently purchased a Powershred 79Ci shredder. It was definitely an excellent decision for our home office. It is quiet, quick and does not jam easily, Would highly recommend this purchase to anyone considering the purchase of a quality shredder.

The 79Ci Jam Proof Cross-Cut Shredder by Fellowes is the best shredder I have purchased in the last 20 years. I have tried every home-business shredder on the Market. The 79Ci is quiet, size is great, and the design I can put it anywhere and it don't look out of place. And to make it even more valuable it shreds anything I put in it. From credit card offers to old credit cards.

I was so amazed at how quiet this unit was, when I first used it. I love this machine! It takes on the a good amount of paper to shred at one time. I love the easy drawer that pulls out for the shredding. I would highly recommend shredder.

Excellent Choice for Small Office Document and Media Disposal Security

I always research extensively before making important purchases. I have been wanting to add a shredder to my small home office for quite some time and finally came to a decision on the Fellowes Powershred 79Ci. Glad I did. Amazon.com had the best price and I was even able to get even more of a reduction on the already low price by using my American Express Membership Rewards Points! The Fellowes Powershed 79Ci Crosscut Shredder arrived in only 2 days from Amazon.com. The first thing I noticed is how heavy the box was when I picked it up. The majority of the weight is in the shredding unit itself that sits on top of the shredder stand. It is well built although I was a bit surprised the stand and basket seemed a bit flimsy for such a heavy shredder. I am not using the caster wheels that came with it because the unit will be sitting on the carpet. The shredder came with caster wheels, a small bottle of oil, registration card, a few plastic bags for the wastebasket, operators manual and several quick start inserts. I won't be using the bags. Installation was easy. Be careful when putting the shredder on the stand. I can see how easily the top of the shredder stand could be cracked if someone were to force it. Also keep your hands away from the blades on the bottom of the shredder when installing. I also read where some people are having problems when inserting the caster wheels, cracking the insert points. Once assembled, simply plug in the unit, make sure the switch is on, on the back of the shredder and push the power button. You are now ready to shred. The first thing I noticed is how quiet the shredder is and it shreds with ease. Even though this shredder is crosscut and not a micro cut it still gets a high-security rating and does an excellent job of cutting paper into very small confetti-like pieces. It also shreds media such as credit cards, DVD's and CD's and not to worry if you accidentally run an errant paperclip or staple through the shredder. It will handle those as well. Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase. Only time will tell how it will hold up in the long term. I'm hoping It will provide me many years of service.

We appreciate your 5-star review! Should you have any trouble with the installation of your casters if you decide to give them a try, we do have a few tricks to help! Be sure to use a rubber mallet or even the bottom of a shoe if you need a little extra power to finish installation :)
