Perfect Shredder for me.

I bought this shredder to replace an old one that was that was noisy, huge and had several broken shredder "teeth/gears". Not only does this one outperform my old one, but it is quieter, and takes up much less room in my little office. I have grandchildren running about occasionally too, and it's nice to have that safety feature where it won't operate if there are fingers touching the feed/slot area. I like the fact that the "body" of the shredder is actually the shredder bin, so it's easy to just lift of the head and dump the bin into a clear plastic bag for curb disposal. Couldn't have found a shredder more suited to my needs, (and I did a lot of research online before I bought this). Also liked the Fellowes brand name. They have a well earned and longstanding reputation for quality. There are other Fellowes shredders that are bigger, more expensive, or have heavier duty cycles, but this one is perfect for me. Mainly use it to shred old documents that are no longer relevant, like bills, credit card statements, bank statements, expired drivers licences, things you don't like to just toss in the garbage for anyone to read. Can't be too careful these days with all the identity theft stuff gong on out there. Everyone needs a good shredder! Very happy with my purchase.
Pros: Quiet Operation, Sheet Capacity, Quality Construction, Warranty, Shreds Credit Cards, Staples and CDs, Service Guarantee, Safety Features, Secure Cut Size, Mess Reduction, compact size with a larger capacity bin.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Have had a Fellowes shredder for over 5 yrs. It finally gave up. I purchased anot her br and and have been disgust ed wit h it (It was cheaper and a brand name, but not as easy to use -(too small) and doesn't have the safety features of the Fellowes. Purchased another Fellowes as it has the features I like and it a real workhorse! (put the ot her one is a workroom.)
Pros: Sheet Capacity, Quality Construction, Shreds Credit Cards, Staples and CDs, Safety Features, Jam Resistance

Wow! Thank you for the great review. We really do appreciate your contribution.
Good weight to the machine but would like some kind of handle's so it could be moved easier. Find it a little noisy but it does a great job of shredding staples and have to try a credit card one day! The safety features are great to have since there are kids and pets around. The warranty is fair, and it gives me a great feeling of safety that my documents are shredded and can't be put together so easy! Over all I love the Fellow's Shredder!
Pros: Sheet Capacity, Quality Construction, Warranty, Shreds Credit Cards, Staples and CDs, Service Guarantee, Safety Features, Secure Cut Size, Jam Resistance, Mess Reduction
Cons: Quiet Operation, a little noisy

Hi Verda55,
Thank you for writing a review and for taking a moment to provide a suggestion. We really do apprecaite hearing from you; happy shredding!
Frankly, I only use it for a few times after I purchased it. But so far it looks good, it is reasonably quiet and smooth during cutting. I hope it will last long for me. I would like to have a longer manufacturer warranty.
Pros: Quiet Operation, Quality Construction
Cons: Warranty, Sheet Capacity

It works like a charm out of the box. It came with the plastic bin deformed a bit on the side, so it doesn't look perfect there. However, I tested and it does the job well. 10 sheets not a problem, staple not a problem, etc. I haven't had it for too long so I can't comment on the reliability, but the construction looks like it will last (compared to the previous shredder I owned).

Hello sfwrx,
Thank you for choosing Fellowes and for posting a review! It is so great to hear from you. Please do not hesitate to let us know if the bin of your shredder starts to cause you any difficulties in the future.
The reason I purchased this shredder for the second time is that it fits in a small space & does a good and powerful job of cross-shredding. I would make one STRONG suggestion in the design - - - - - - - - -It is frustrating to pick-up and move as the handles are only on the machine. WOULD THERE BE A WAY TO HAVE INSET ON THE BASKET SO THAT IT COULD BE MOVED WITHOUT HOLDING ONTO THE BOTTOM OF THE UNIT?
Pros: Quiet Operation, Sheet Capacity, Quality Construction, Warranty, Shreds Credit Cards, Staples and CDs, Service Guarantee, Safety Features, Secure Cut Size, Jam Resistance, Mess Reduction, size fiits small space
Cons: Quality Construction, basket needs handles
I would recommend this to a friend!
