It's overwhelming! My old computer was a 2014. So many options for doing everything. Notes will pop up on the bottom right side. I don't have time to read them or click on them to see what it's about.
Oh My...so fast. Hate the thought of cluttering it up, slowing it down. Can't make full evaluation, still new.
My old HP laptop needed a new battery, was very slow and was falling apart, literally! Norton says it has broken registries, but won't fix that problem. This new one is better in all respects except Norton says it has broken registries. I do like the feature that recognizes my face to allow me in!
I really wanted to like this laptop. I had a 17 inch HP for the past 5 years and it was amazing! No problems until recently when it refused to charge (even after going to get it fixed). That being said I figured it was time for a new one. I chose this model because it had good reviews and I hoped it would be similar to my 2019(?) hp envy. Unfortunately it has not been. The first couple of weeks were good so I thought I was good to go. The last few weeks have been rough though. It’s been really slow (even though I got a temporary laptop and that one works fine with the wifi) so I don’t think it’s my internet. It’s shut off multiple times while I’ve been working despite being fully charged, it has also glitched when I have tried to switch tabs (I have a video of this) and most of the time I have to reload my webpages (although the other people who use laptops in my house don’t have to, and again when I use a loaner laptop — it’s fine). Also I feel like the sound on this laptop isn’t great it’s kind of muffled — both when you create videos (I record lectures) and when your are on video calls. I also am not the biggest fan of the keyboard. I know you can get external keyboards but I travel a lot and don’t really enjoy bringing another item. I’m pretty bummed because I wanted to like this laptop as much as my first Hp. It just hasn’t been the right fit. It’s also heavier than my old one. It is a pretty design though, and I like the new port for charging, and the physical shutter for the camera. I really wanted this to work! Unfortunately I don’t think it’s the laptop for me and my needs.
The machine is alright and has some cool features but I don't like being FORCED into using Outlook, a gmail account that I clicked "NO" on, and some other things. Microsoft is an extremely INVASIVE creature! Right down to wanting my birthdate? Really?! There is no reason that I can think of why they need that!!!! And I couldn't skip it or proceed setting up without it. I tried half a dozen different dates that it kept rejecting, until I put in my actual date, then I was good to go. If they already knew it then why the ***k were they asking? Not happy about those things at all.
