Ring doorbell doesn't work during cold days

Don't buy Ring doorbell if you live anywhere with cold winter. The ring doorbell dies if the temperature goes below -18c. You need to keep charging the battery almost everyday to have it working. Sometimes even with full battery the ring doorbell will stop working to protect the battery. I'm thinking to replaced it with Nest and see how things goes. I bought this ring door bell to added more security for my family but it seems like it only works when the weather is perfect lol. I'm guessing Ring didnt really put alot of thinking about their product functionality in cold cities.

Everything about this (hard wired) video doorbell is great but… if you live in a climate where the temperature drops below freezing, the battery won’t charge and you’ll have to bring it in doors to charge. I’ve only had to do this once or twice in the last two Winters, so not a show stopper.

This system was quick and easy to setup and works great. I would recommend purchasing an extra battery to have fully charged if your installation will be in an area we’re you have high pedestrian and automotive movement

What they don’t tell you.

My Ring Doorbell Camera shuts off at -20c and colder. Not good for the Canadian climate. Motion detection is a hit and miss. Mine never picked up my car. Battery does not charge using low voltage doorbell wiring and the battery life is very poor. My battery last just two weeks before it needed to be recharge. I un-installed all of my devices (4 of them) when I found out that I would have to pay a $6 monitoring fee “PER DEVICE”. ($24/mth for my 4 devices). DON”T BUY ANYTHING RING. Unless you just don’t care.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

i know i am one of the few who still have a blackberry ..and I know i might have to get an Iphone eventually ...but it should be pointed out that ring Doesn't work with blackberry
I bought a $1000 worth of ring cameras and its my mistake I didn't check to see if it was compatible. I think Ring should at least state this in their discription of their product
