Needs high speed internet

I purchased this based on the ratings and while it works reasonably well, it really needs an internet connection capable of uploading at high speed. We have good WiFi in the house but live in a rural location and have a DSL connection with a .7 mbps upload speed. There is a delay in receiving the video feed from the device as it appears to go to Ring.com before showing up on your phone or Alexa Show device. There is no mention of the need for a high speed upload capability on the box or in any of the online literature, only in the fine print on one of the pages in the instruction manual near the end. Otherwise I would have rated it higher.

Doesn't connect properly - poor support

I'm in a small bungalow, strong wifi, more than acceptable connection speed. Despite that, the device does not connect until too late -- therefore the doorbell features are useless. No support from Ring. I've exhausted the "community" troubleshooting tips. I think they expect me to buy an extender for an extra $60, so consider that as part of the price.

Not Worth the Money

The audio is garbled and cuts in and out. Too much of a time delay from the time I get a notification and click into the app to view the event it is over and I have no clue who was at the door. I tried to communicate with a person at my door from a remote location and it cut in and out. A subscription is required after 30 days to view the history (even if the history is 1 minute old) Unless I purchase the subscription for this device it is useless. It is an expensive doorbell with an average camera with a low quality microphone. I would not recommend this device as it has been a disappointed. I will do a more thorough research in future.

It has a cheap RF receiver

Un like ring2, this ring3 needs a higher wifi bandwidth and the Hotspot needs to be physically close by for it to perform up to its minimum spec. Nothing to be wow'ed about, but if u get it at a good discount then it would be a good deal.

Night vision does NOT WORK AT ALL!!!
Can't draw zones..every car sets it off but deliveries are somehow completely MISSED...NO VIDEO..NO ALERT.
This is actually complete garbage.
A hugely expensive doorbell.

Great for our office building!

We bought the Ring doorbell for our office building which is locked during COVID but still receiving deliveries and visitors. The picture is very clear and camera angle is huge and you just need to stand near it to get a 360 view of the area.
We haven't had any issues with it so far and I plan to get another one to use at home too.

Doorbell

I was surprised how easy it was to install and setup. We wired it where our old door bell was. We live in a rural area with little to no obstacles around and it is amazing. We never thought of a video doorbell unlit someone told us how much we could see using it. We can see the complete front of our property and then some. We really like it.

Works too infrequently

Bought this no more than two weeks ago, and at first, it was great. The live view appeared, I got notifications, but literally a day later I couldn't get live view any more. It kept saying "live view ended". I looked up online, and there are a TON of people having the same issue, and Ring's only support is to reboot your router, unplug the device, reinstall your app and other things that don't help.
Doorbell rings were very delayed, and often so were notifications, even on the highest frequency settings, which might I add, drain your battery something fierce. The battery itself takes a VERY long time to charge, so if you bump up the frequency of notifications, not only do you get a notification if the wind blows every 3 minutes, but you lose about 5 to 10% a day.
Ultimately, I found out it wasn't connecting well to my wifi, even with a mesh system. It never connected to the satellite that was 4 feet away, but rather the main router in the basement. I have a Nest outdoor cam that much farther away from the satellite, but would always connect to it, so I knew the issue was with the Ring doorbell.
Finally, on the last day, it just stopped working. Battery got down to 40%, wifi signal was the worst it ever was and I got ZERO notifications, even for doorbell Rings. Could have been a great product but they need to step up their customer service, App performance and wifi range on the device itself
