Lasted forever, but is it recyclable?

Lasted longer than I can remember, would recommend but loses 1 star as there’s nothing on the website or product to indicate if it’s a recyclable plastic.

Solid build and easy to hold

This basket is quite wide versus long, which makes holding it by the hip easy with the contour on the hip side. It's also quite durable. I've slammed it (by mistake) into door frames and brushed it against walls more than a few times while carrying it and my basket is still damage free.
I would recommend this to a friend!

handles fell off after a week on both

I have two of these baskets...both have handles broke off within 2 weeks

Breaking handles

Use as laundry bin for 2 people. Handles broke quickly disappointing as I had to replce another bin of this brand for the same reason. Wouldn't recommend

Very poor quality - not worth spending money on.

I bought three of these baskets because of the hip-carrying design. Within a couple of months ALL of the handles are broken off! I have baskets made by another company that I've used for years and they are in perfect condition. I will not be buying Sterilite baskets in the future due to the poor quality of the product. I will use them for sorting laundry to avoid their sitting in a land-fill for years, but can no longer carry laundry in them. Too bad - they look nice and have a good asthetic design.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

For the first few times using this product it was great. Stayed on my hip like it is designed to. Then after a couple months the handle inserts break. Leading to the actual handle itself collapsing and breaking when using it. Need to make more durable handles. No plastic inserts. Solid handles.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

NEVER forget great customer support

Bought 6 or 8 of these, and yes the handles were an issue... BUT, it was due to installation at the retailer. The handles if improperly installed will fail quite quickly. I called a wonderfully responsive Sterlite customer service department, and not only did they quickly and happily send out handles, but they also sent out the instructions (easy as can be) to correctly install the handles. 3 years later.... no issues. NONE!
The problem is the 8 dollar an hour kid putting the handles on at the store. If yours failed, call Sterlite and you will be a believer in their product and determination for great customer service. I am.

Amazingly well made. Mine has lasted 20 years! I would have given it 5 points for durability, but the tabs on little insert on the handle just cracked. Still I guess not too bad for 2 decades of use! (but if Sterilite can send me another insert, it'll probably go another 20!)
