I thought this item would be worth while. Unfortunately I'm sorry I purchased it It starts to over heat after using it for about 5 minutes This is ludicrous.

To Whom It May Concern: the shredder does what the product is supposed to do-shred. It handles diverse size and shapes thicknesses and quality. Many products no longer do what they are supposed to do but the shredder does it and at a good pace. Thank you.

We purchased this 8 sheet shredder to replace a 10 sheet model we bought some years ago (from Staples) that failed. We do small amounts of shredding on rare occasions and do not really need a more expensive or fancier model. The shedder functions just fine but we were startled at how much smaller the bin capacity is than the model it replaces. If you plan on shredding more than an occasional year or two of old tax return data or a similar amount you may be disappointed at how often you have to stop and empty the bin.
