I prefer the pull out drawers to avoid the top detachable shredder mechanism from tipping over. It does a decent job but the shredding process from start to finish is longer than it has to be.
My old shredder quit so I went for a medium-priced replacement. I'm pretty satisfied with this one. It cuts through everything I put in for average househouse usage (not business): several sheets or an entire envelope full of unwanted junk mail. The reservoir is a bit smaller than my last one but it simply slides out to be dumped. (Previously I had to disengage the heavy grinding mechanism turn it over while not making a mess and then dump it.) A light goes on to warn you that it is getting full. I never really minded the noise of the previous machine but this one is so quiet you'd never know it was on. All in all no regrets as long as it holds up over time.
