I am not at all happy with this shredder works . Poor workmanship cheep plastic and doesn't put shredded paper down in basket always needing to clear out in front & back part of shredder blades.

The shredder is quieter than previous Staples shredders I have bought. PLUSES: Automatic forward and reverse cutting when needed simpler controls. MINUSES: Handholds only remove the top half of the shredder no handholds for bottom half the paper view window is too small to see the total amount of shredded paper in the bottom half.

Quick Efficient Shredder

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am so pleased to have the Staples 12 Sheet Cross Cut Shredder for use in my home. It’s slim unobtrusive and fits perfectly under the office desk. (It’s almost smaller than my office trash can.) My family shreds credit card insurance and a variety of other offers every week and this shredder has no problem cutting up the thicker paper used in the marketing materials and the accompanying faux credit cards. I appreciate being able to shred up to 12 sheets of paper at a time and the auto on/off option. Additionally the noise level is acceptable. Of course it has to make noise to do its job but I have had other shredders that are far noisier. The capacity is just right for my family as I typically only need to empty it every few weeks. I would highly recommend the Staples 12 Sheet Cross Cut Shredder to anyone looking for a light use shredder!
