This shredder would be perfect in a small home office or a dorm room. It shreds paper well. I have no worry that my info has been shredded beyond recognition. It does only take 8 pages at once and does not jam with staples. However if you put in 9 pages it will jam. Additionally the feeder is very thin: what you have to feed in has to be in a nice neat pile. IF you have more than a few pages to do it would take a long time. If you have a bigger shred job this is not for you. But if you have to shred a few pieces of mail a day this would be the right shredder for you.

Staples 8-Sheet Shredder is a compact and complete solution for private and sensitive shredding at home. I used it daily immediately shredding unwanted mail. I experienced no overheating or jamming when used as directed keeping the shredding to eight sheets or less. It was also quiet much less quiet than my household vacuum. The shredder does not have have wheels so you plug in close to an outlet or use an extension cord.

Overall the shredder is 5-star. It works great and officially shreds up to eight pages very well. It also smoothly shreds credit cards. The shredder also easily meets my requirements of continuous shredding without easily overheating. The bin also adequately meets my needs. The shredder also securely cross cuts into small short pieces for extra security. The shredder is also super safe. I would highly suggest buying this shredder.

The shredder was easy to set up and appears to well made. The shredder basket is light-weight compared to the shredder head so it is a bit top heavy but it didn't tip over. The shredder cross cuts the paper well and is able to handle the maximum 8 sheets. This is a better fit for a home office or for private use than for a large office. The shredder is quite loud and isn't well suited to a shared office space. It also can't handle large quantities of shredding before overheating. Overall the performance is good for its size.

The Staples 24565987 8-sheet shredder performed well for me. I have used it for over 2 weeks and I have had no problems with it that I consider serious. It did need to cool down for one session where I was shredding a couple hundred sheets of aper but I expect this to happen and i appreciate this feature as a safety mechanism for the shredder motor. I simply waited for approximately 30 minutes and then resumed the shredding. The noise level was acceptable; some folks don't like a lot of noise but honestly the device is shredding paper - I expect some noise. I did not find the noise level to be too loud. The shredder was easy to set up and use. the controls are user friendly and easy to understand. The shredder cuts paper in a cross-cut pattern that would be almost impossible for a bad guy to reconstruct. I typically try not to put too many pages in at once but to adequately test the shredder I did attempt 8 sheets several times and the shredder only jammed once perhaps because the paper was put in a little crooked. For test purposes I tried 10 sheets once and the shredder did jam; however it is a light duty machine and the manual clearly states that 8 sheets is the limit. All in all this is a very good light duty shredder that will definitely shred my documents in a secure fashion.

This is a quality shredder. It was very easy to setup and get running - less than two minutes. I have shredded up to six pages in it so far and it moved through them with ease. The shredder is a little loud but I can't say that it's definitely any louder than other shredders that I have used in the past. It also seems to provide the ability to shred things like credit/debit cards but I have not had a reason to use that yet. Only complaint I would have is that the slot to feed in the paper could be a bit wider. It's pretty much exactly fits a 8.5 wide sheet of paper with little wiggle room so sometimes I wouldn't get the paper lined up on the first attempt. Would be nice it there was an additional half inch of space or something like that.

I did not know what to expect but this thing delivers. I am impressed with the durability and design. Its powerful enough to take care of all my needs. Not the biggest container but its meant for a small office. I had no problems shredding the stuff I use. Easily shredded cardstock type paper. The best thing about it is how sleek and professional it looks. Fits nicely beside desk and looks very modern. 5 out of 5 for me!

This shredder worked great. It handled thick sheets of multiple papers without jamming and I was honestly surprised. Very easy to use and doesnt take up much space.
