The Staples 8-Sheet Shredder performed well with 8 sheets of paper credit card and card stock. It cut the paper in several angles into very small pieces. The size of shredder is perfect for a home office. It has two settings which shred down to the bin and reverse shred in case you need to bring something back up. It was a bit loud but quick and efffective.

I have been using my Staples 8-sheet cross-cut paper shredder for a couple of weeks and after regular continuous use I’m confident in leaving an honest review of the machine. I am a small business owner with a home office who accumulates a great of sensitive documents that eventually need reliable shredding for obvious privacy concerns. I find the neat compact size is perfect for a home office as it uses little floor space. It shreds quite quickly and is relatively quiet compared to other paper shredders that I’ve used. I will generally shred only 5 or 6 sheets at one time although the shredder is capable of handling up to 8 sheets. I initially tested it with an 8-sheet feed and although it did the job the unit seemed to struggle a bit. I was concerned that the shredder would overheat with a continuous feed of that quantity so I now limit the feed to several sheets less than the max. One feature that I feel is quite important is the reliable safety feature that triggers the motor to shut off to prevent overheating when the shredder is overworked. If you are planning to shred a large number of documents at one time I would suggest pacing the activity and allowing 10-minute breaks to avoid overworking the unit and prevent overheating. I am very pleased with this Staples 8-sheet cross-cut paper shredder and give it two thumbs up!

I have been using this shredder for two weeks. I like the large size of the basket and the 8 sheet shredding capacity. I also like that it shreds credit cards which I have already done and it worked great. The shredder produces a moderate amount of noise which is not a problem for me at all. The size of the shred is fine for me but maybe could be a little smaller. The shredder is sturdy and I expect that it will last a long time.

This shredder shreds all! From old plastic health insurance cards to 8 sheets of paper this shredder shreds! I was able to shred through plastic cards and eight sheets of paper with ease. I did not have any issues with the shredder clogging. I would highly recommend

I have tested this product to shed paper from 1 page up to 8 pages. My first impression is that the unit is running smoothly with low noise. I like to paper that was shedded cut into cross and small pieces which is the increase the security and difficult if someone tries to restore to the original. One observation that I want to bring up is that when shedding 6 or 7 pages depending on the thickness of papers I may hear the unit vrooming in louder sounds. With my experience of the previous shedder don't push the unit to the max. It may run now but soon it may show some difficulties and eventually stop working (just to take one single paper every time after the problem started to surface). The noise level of motor is much better than my previous model.

This is a nice compact shredder for occasional home or home office use. I diligently shred papers envelopes mailing labels prescription labels and other items that have personally identifiable information. I haven't used more than two sheets of paper at a time and the shredder works well. No jams no stopping mid-shred. It is a little louder than I expected but the process is quick. I like that the shredder is compact in size. It fits nicely under the small table I have my fax/scanner on next to my home office computer. This is not by any means a heavy-duty shredder. I use my Ativa for that. Overall this is a great small shredder for light use.

This shredder is the perfect size for a home office. The noise level was quite a bit less than expected. It shred several sheets of paper at a time with no issues. And it was quick to shred at a low noise level.

The auto-start function is a really great feature. The shredder only runs when the paper is in the slot thus preventing overheating. I also appreciate the quietness of the motor It is not whisper quiet but it is one of the quietest shredders I have ever encountered. And no matter how many sheets of paper I shredded and no matter how long I ran the shredder it never overheated. Unfortunately I found the paper slot to be a huge drawback as I could not get receipts to feed easily. The slot is thin and the angle is awkward. I also had an issue with sheets of paper getting caught in the middle of the slot forming a clump. This happened when using 6-8 sheets and it is an 8 sheet shredder.
