About same size as my previous Omni shredder that started to jam after several years of use due to a break in one plastic guide coming out of shredder causing strips of paper to wrap around axle of shredder causing jams. Staples brand is almost identical but rectangular shape instead of oval. Shredding mechanism looks exactly the same but is significantly quieter than my old one that boasted 14 pages but really never could do that amount at one time. So I am quite happy with this 8 page Staples model for light home use. If it lasts as long as my old one at the price I paid I will be overjoyed. P.S. The day I received the shredder it dropped in price and staples on line customer service was happy to refund the difference promptly.
