I have previously owned the CV-DCC and CD-WCC (4L variants) and feel like the CV-JAC is an improvement in every way. For the same volume it is slightly wider and shorter which is practical on a countertop with a low overhead, and is great for my small apartment. The water boiling noise has been reduced drastically and is barely noticeable when heating up to 175 F, and does not disturb me at all during video conferencing. And the 930 watt power makes the heating time just slightly shorter.
Other things I like: 1. The power cable is a standard power cable like those used for desktop computers, and no longer has a magnetic power connector. Although the magnetic connector is convenient when I need to quickly move the boiler somewhere else, it is also easier to knock off. 2. I may be mistaken on this one, but I believe the temperature selection setting is now saved even when the power is off. The previous models reset the selection to 195 F when powering on. 3. The notes in the little song when the water is ready have been tuned more precisely and the volume has been equalized. 4. The reboil / quick-temp states now share a single LED where blinking means it is in quick-temp. This makes it easier to distinguish from afar compared to 2 solid LEDs where you can't really tell which one is lit up.
The only design choice I don't like so much is the small floating red ball inside the water level indicator. It is subjective but I prefer the simpler aesthetic of just a water line.
Bought this water boiler because I wanted to be able to do more than what a kettle could provide. This is amazing and efficient! Worth every penny and then some.
This is an appliance that I didn't think would make as big of an impact on my daily life as it did. Very simple, easy to use, easy to clean, and with a lot of intuitive safety features. Very low power draw which was my biggest initial hesitation.
Replacing our 25 year old machine with this one was bitter sweet. We were gifted a water boiler and a rice cooker as wedding gifts in 1999. We used the boiler multiple times daily. The new one performs even better than the old one did and I appreciate the energy saving features. Great product!
As an avid, all-day tea drinker, I've eyed this off and on for years. I drink green tea in the morning which brews at 175 and black tea in the afternoon. I put the set point at 175 and hit the reboil button when I needed higher temp. Its first heating can be slow, but after that, reheating goes pretty quickly. The capacity of this thing is awesome - pipes froze last week and it was a 2 day wait for the plumber. Luckily I had this filled to capacity when the pipes froze, so we had a hot water reserve that lasted till the pipes were fixed. Could not be more pleased with this purchase and the convenience its added to my daily routines. Highly Recommended!
