On my old OtterBox the opening to the charging port was wider than this new one. The problem with the new one is that I have an attachment that won't plug in since the opening is smaller. Also, I liked the rubber casing on the old one I had - the new one is harder, more plastic-like. The old type was more like a bouncy rubber ball. All that being said, I still like the protection the case gives my phone & I don't worry about it breaking if I drop it.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Best case ever. Before I received my Defender Series case with holster I was dropping phone like crazy. I would put it in my shirt pocket and it would fall out when I bent over or I would carry in back pocket but couldn't sit down without first moving it.

Bought it 3 weeks ago, seems sturdy. Scratched the plastic over the screen after first 3 days with having a measuring tape in the sweatshirt with my phone....it protected my phone! Yay did it's job.....3rd phone in 1 year....little rough on them, or my job is..

I have purchased several Otterbox protection covers. They have all been great. However there is one thing about the current cover that I would change--the flap that covers the charging connection opens from back to front instead of front to back--seems ackward.
