Good thing was battery operation.

As so many others have said, quality is clearly not up to their older standards. I. Purchased new “triple header’ in 1974 performed very well. Got this “newer model’ 5000 battery operated. Shaving performance is clearly no longer a priority with norelco. I have put up with it as long as I can stand, looking for another brand now.

Obvious Improvement Over Worn Blades

I'm not sure why others had such a bad experience with these blades. I immediately experienced a significant improvement over the performance I was getting out of my old blades,so I won't hesitate to order these again in the future.

replacement blades are substandard

I replaced the shaving heads on my 10-month old AT810 razor with the recommended new SH50 blades. The SH50 blades do not perform nearly as well as the old ones. Shaving takes twice as long and the results are horrible. The new blades don't cut very well and leave stubble. Time to move on from Norelco which I have used for many years.

Disappointed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] like others have said. Disappointed in new design of separate trimmer head, power switch location, quality of shave after only a couple months, power cord shutting down shaver, cost of replacement heads that wear out so quickly, and stiffness of new cord compared to recoiling style of my previous shaver.

Replaced my old Philips with this one and very disappointed. Does not do a thorough shave...I don't have a heavy stubble..but it can't seem to properly do it. I'm left going over and over same spot continuously .

My Norelco SH52 let me know change blades and I ordered new blades and it's as same as blades with original one and shave smooth again. I recommend this product. I searched and saw some aftermarket shops selling copied items and many negative reviews.

Problems replacing heads

To those frustrated with installing heads; read the instructions. There are two curved points in the otherwise circular head so that the head doesn't move, just the blades. You have to line these up perfectly. It is a little hard to see where they go but they are equidistant from the center axis of the shaver. They are 120 degrees apart, so place the head with the points to each side, 60 degrees, from the center axis. I was cussing Philips Norelco the first time too but it was my fault.

The only flaw, is the location of the power button.

I have always used Norelco Shavers, and this model performs as well, or better than the others that I have used. The only drawback, is the location of the power button. Like other reviewers have said, it is too easy to turn off the shaver, while you are using it.
