Dull blades?

The SH50 replacement heads do not cut hairs well at all; they jerk them off. I see I'm not the only one who thinks so (based on numerous other reviews).
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi there,
We are sorry to hear that the product did not live up to your expectations.
Please take in account that the replacement heads SH50 is only compatible with the shaver on the list below. Ensure that your shaver is also part of it.
We can appreciate how this must be disappointing, so if you'd like to discuss this further, please don't hesitate to get in touch at any time via social media or the contact page on our website. One of our colleagues will provide you with the best assistance.
Kind regards,

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These replacement blades no longer give a close shave, like I used to get. Will no longer buy Philips products. Will be looking to buy a different brand of shaver.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi there,
Thanks for sharing your feedback with us. This is not the experience we wish you to have with the Philips Norelco Replacement shaving heads. Please make sure to clean the shaver heads thoroughly after each use and do a deeper clean monthly. Trapped hair and debris can dull the blades over time. Check that you're using the right shaving technique of moving in small circular motions with light pressure. This allows the blades to cut hairs growing in all different directions. Additionally, if you haven’t shaved for three days or longer, pre-trim the longer hairs with a beard trimmer to ensure a better result when using your Philips electric shaver.
If you have any additional questions, please get in touch via Social Media. We’re available on Facebook (@Philips) and Twitter (@PhilipsCare). Don’t worry, if you don’t use Social Media, you can also reach out to us via the contact page: www.Philips.com/contact.
Hope to speak to you soon!

Not as good a the old one

Like everything norelco these days it is not as good as the HQ8 heads. I don't understand why they are going backwards, from there low end razors like the 3500 that don't shave close unless you shave for 20 minutes to their awkward square giants head design on the higher end shavers that are just plain terrible to get under the nose and not a good design. You would think a company would make better product not worse. My old Aquatec with the hq8 shaved better than anything they currently make.

Hi there,
We are sorry to hear about your experience with the Philips Norelco Shaver.
If your shaver is not yielding the expected results, the troubleshooting tips ahead may help you find a solution. It is possible that the performance of your shaver has declined because it is dirty. There may be hair or dirt particles stuck inside it, causing the shaving heads to not function correctly. To fix this problem, properly clean your shaver. If possible, remove the shaving heads and clean your shaver from the inside as well. For detailed cleaning instructions, refer to your user manual.
Another reason why your shaver might not be working properly is that it is not assembled correctly. For full instructions on how to reassemble your shaver, refer to your user manual. When you shave with your Philips Shaver, you will achieve optimal results if you make slow circular movements with the shaver over the face. If you have not shaved for a couple of days and have a heavy beard, it is a good idea to trim your beard before you start shaving. This technique also helps reduce shaving time. Do not press the shaver too hard against your skin. Only apply gentle pressure, which makes your facial hair stand upright and makes it easier for the shaver blades to catch and cut them.
If this does not help, or if you require further assistance, then please reach out to us via social media. We’re available on Facebook (@Philips) and Twitter (@PhilipsCare). Don’t worry if you don’t use Social Media; you can also reach out to us via our contact page: www.Philips.com/contact. Hope to speak to you soon.

Hi there,
Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. This is not the experience we wish you to have. We suggest you try a few possible causes and solutions to see if you can fix the issue. It is possible that the performance of your shaver has declined because it is dirty. To fix this problem, properly clean your shaver. If possible, remove the shaving heads and clean your shaver from the inside as well. When you shave with your Philips Shaver, you will achieve optimal results if you make slow, circular movements with the shaver over the face. You can also use a gentle moisturizer or aftershave lotion to minimize skin irritation after shaving. If you have not shaved for a couple of days and have a heavy beard, it is a good idea to trim your beard before you start shaving. While shaving, it is important to be gentle, especially if you have sensitive skin prone to irritation. Do not press the shaver too hard against your skin. Only apply gentle pressure, which makes your facial hair stand upright and makes it easier for the shaver blades to catch and cut it.

The SH50 are excellent shaving heads

Be careful to buy the Philips SH50 to replace HQ8. There are replacement versions being sold that do not perform as well and look like the SH50. In my opinion, they do not cut as close or may pull and bite. I examined the SH50 and the HQ8. There is only a slight difference between the two. The bottom side blades are the same. The topside which has a plastic holder that contacts the rotor is only slightly smaller. The SH50 gave me a clean, and comfortable shave as the original HQ8.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Not up to standards of previous generation Norelco. Just not a close shave. Feels like u need to shave again in an hour. Head comes off accidentally. Switch is in odd place. Maybe okay as second razor. Def not a go to shaver
