Smooth shaving

My old heads were getting like a rototiller on my face. But, I didn't realize it until I put my new SH-50 Replacement blades in. What a difference! They shave me faster and certainly more smooth! I need to change yearly as I love my new results!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These OEM replacement blade give me a nice close shave, and leaves my face smooth without stubble. I use these with my wet/dry razor wet.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Exact replacement blades are exactly as described. They give the same shave as when purchased the razor years ago. Tried cheaper blades, but they didn't give the close shave I needed.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Glad I read the reviews prior to buying

I thought my hatred for this razor was all me, it seems I do not stand alone in believing it is junk, so many times I’ve wanted to throw it away but didn’t. Today I get an email saying it’s time to replace my blades, these replacement blades don’t look like the ones I have so I decide to read reviews and boy did I dodge a bullet, I’m just going to trash the whole setup and start fresh with a different brand.

New HS50 blades give much worse shave than old HQ8

I have had my Series 5000 shaver for most of a decade, replacing blades every year or two, and been happy with it. Come time to replace the blades, I ordered the recommended HS50/52 blades. First shave was awful: left stubble even after many passes over an area. OK, give the blades a chance to settle in. But two weeks later, still getting poor shaves even after many passes over my cheeks, and chin area left especially stubbly. So sorry Norelco has stepped back to much lower quality blades. Shaving performance is so bad that, like others, I will have to shift to another manufacturer's product.

Poor shave quality

If I wanted a razor that takes 4 ties longer than it should, leaves patches of stubble and requires enough pressure to get a semi-decent shave that it irritates my face then this is the razor for that. The concept of lift and cut is non-existent. And it does such a patchy job that I usually have to break out a bladed razor to clean up, specially around the chin. And after a few months I figured I'd try replacing the heads. They are worse. So I'm in the market for a replacement already. Too bad, since I really wanted it to be good.
Pros: battery life
Cons: poor shave quality, leaves patches, requires to much pressure since apparently no lift

You sent me a new shaver with these HQ50 blades which do not give me as close a shave as the old HQ8 blades. I waited this long to review this product in order to give it time to work. It has not!! I am very disappointed in Philips Norelco.

They don't work nearly as well as the HQ-8 heads

Not nearly as close of a shave. It takes much longer to get a somewhat acceptable shave. I should have kept my old heads. I have used Philips/Norelco for decades. I am about to jump ship. Unless you bring back HQ-8 heads, I will need to look for a better product from a different company.
