Many years ago I used a electric shaver, But my face always had a unpleasant feeling after. Now I use shaving cream and no longer have that feeling. And my face is smooth.
Pros: wet makes a difference.
Cons: none

Disappointing

Like another reviewer said , leaves patches, have to keep going over it with pressure, actually irritates my face having to go over it so much. And I’m blond, don’t have real heavy beard

These blades don't cut effectively after about 3 months in my Series 5000 shaver. I only shave once per day, and my beard is not heavy.

Hi there, thank you for taking the time to write us a review. We're very sorry to hear your shaver heads are not working properly, and can imagine this is quite inconvenient. We would recommend making sure the blades are properly cleaned and make sure you oil the cutting teeth every six months. This will ensure the replacement heads work properly. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us on Facebook (@Philips) or Twitter (@PhilipsCare). We're happy to help.

The SH50 works as well as the HQ8

Be careful to buy the Philips SH50 to replace HQ8. There are counterfeit and replacement versions being sold cheaper online that do perform as well. They do no cut as close or may pull and bite. I show both the SH50 and the HQ8 in a photo. There is only a slight difference between the two. The blades are the same. The backside plastic holder is slightly smaller. The SH50 gave me a clean, comfortable shave.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Blades lose the initial sharpness within a month or so but are still giving a comfortable shave. I’ve tried generic replacement blades that were not very sharp and did not last very long. Phillips blades are my standard.
