Did not receive any lids

Received containers with no lids. I needed these containers to cope with a pest infestation in my home and was incredibly dissapointed when I received containers without any of the lids. Without the lids these are completely non-functional.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Don't buy these bins, latches are trash

Save yourself the hassle and find something else. The latches' quality is poor and will last you about a month with normal daily use even if you're being gentle. My first latch broke off within a week and the latch was only used a few times, the second latch broke off weeks later with minimal use as well and 5-6 months later a third latch broke. The blue latch is made with plastic that breaks off easily with repeated use. Without the latches in place, these storage bins are useless since there will be nothing to keep the lid closed.

Gasket and latch design protect items in storage

The Sterilite 80 qt Gasket Box is a great storage choice. I love the gasket and latch design so I can feel good knowing that my items are not being exposed to dust, moisture, and insects in my Florida garage. The bin seems to be holding up well in the heat of the summer and I appreciate the squared design to allow for easy stacking. The clear sides make it so much easier to see what I needs and get to it faster. I will be purchasing a few more to complete the shelf after receiving this bin in exchange for opinion.

Knob on handle broke off

Really liked the product until the plastic knob connecting the handle to the box broke off. Box sits in the basement and does not get moved around so it's the plastic used in manufacturing the knob that is weak.

The extremely toxic plastic smell will never go away. I’ve tried airing them out for weeks, using vinegar and baking soda, and nothing works. Do NOT put anything you don’t want to smell like industrial plastic in these things. These have destroyed some very precious family heirlooms. No idea what kind of plastic these are made of but they will leech into anything you put in them.

Hi there! We are sorry to hear the inconvenience you have experienced with your 80 Qt. Gasket Box having a strong odor. The 80 Qt. Gasket Box is made of Polypropylene plastic. Polypropylene sometimes has a plastic smell (especially the clear products) when first purchased and usually dissipates fairly rapidly once the product is unpacked and put to use. Washing with a lemon scented or grease fighting detergent and rinsing thoroughly helps dispel any noticeable odor. Detergents sometimes adhere to plastics and you will want to wipe and rinse well, air or towel dry! I have the most respect for the company to take my idea and make something so useful. I needed this because I have two trailers that need to be winterized and I hate bring everything home and then try to fit it into anything that I don’t need to have hanging around.
