Large pieces of glass in the bag

This soil is kind of expensive where I purchased it in Connecticut. I only needed a small amount so decided to but the miracle grow garden soil for vegetables and herbs. I used it in window style planters with no other soils. Got a good rain storm and sense then have found 4 decent size pieces of Glass. I work construction and have screened topsoil before. I understand you cannot prevent glass in the soil... but if you’re charging good money for dirt you should try to do a better job preventing glass in you’re product....

I Purchased six bags of this product in Pennsylvania for a small tomato garden,And six bags of this product in Florida for a small tomato garden there too. Both gardens turn to small sticks, sort of like mulch. There is no soil. I’m very disappointed because it wasn’t cheap. I will never buy this again

Unsafe for food or even plants.
on April 27, 2024

Bought 6 bags last week. All full of trash and large wood chips. The soil has endless chunks of rubber, shredded plastic bag pieces, hard white plastic pieces, painted wood pieces, etc. And it also has tons of large wood chips. This is for vegetables but its obviously unsafe for food. I’m very angry about this garbage that clearly came from a landfill.

My son found glass in our bag of soil
on March 31, 2022

Me and my 12 year old son found glass in our bag of soil, I'm not happy at all if my son had grabbed that piece of glass and cut himself, he no longer wants to help me in the garden. But I assured him that this soil will go into the trash and will be going to our local co-op instead. Come on you guys need to do better. Very dissatisfied

My pictures were not high enough resolution to post. My husband made me a raised garden and I used MiracleGro garden soil. The "norm" for my carrots this year was 14-16 inches long and 1 1/2 inches across. Four 3 foot rows produced 45 pints of very sweet and tender carrots. I had four 3 foot rows of green beans which produced 41 pints. My onions are the size of baseballs to soft balls. Beets? Huge. Haven't pulled them all up yet. I can almost kill a plastic plant, so this for me is HUGE! Second year in a row I have used this product and will never plant again without it!

High Quality Soil

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Even though the bag says not for use in pots, I decided to try it out in pots since I don't actually have a garden. Keep in mind this may work different for you when used in an actual garden as directed.
This soil has been amazing. It absorbs water very quickly, and even when I found that the soil was dried out from not having been watered for a few days my tomato plants were still alive and healthy. The soil has also stayed very loose where as lots of other soils I have used start to pack and harden after only a few weeks in. If you are someone who doesn't do the best job remembering to water, or you are someone who has a hard time watering in time because of your schedule, I would definitely recommend this soil.
If you do decide to go against labeling directions and use it in a pot, make sure there is drainage in the bottom. Once the soil can't absorb any more water, you will flood the pot if there is no drainage.
Pros: Easy to Use, Effective, Quality, easier to carry

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I could tell as soon as I opened the bag of Miracle Grow garden soil that this was different than the top soil I have been using. The texture and color looked like our Illinois farmers fields. I am testing on container tomato plants. See photo the one on the right is Miracle Grow. Will keep you posted how it goes. So far I am very pleased.
Pros: Easy to Use, Good Directions, Quality
