Horrible

Miracle Grow you really missed the mark on this. I bought 7 bags for a giant herb garden and 4 bags are still sitting unused. That’s how disappointed I am in this soil! I have NEVER had more mold, mushrooms grow, or disgusting fungus smell with any other soil than this! It even is growing in the bags! They are kept dry, in the SUN! It’s revolting! I cannot express how unhappy I am. I pull mushroom out of my plants DAILY!!! I would NEVER expect this from the name “Miracle Grow” but yeah it sure has grown the fungus! So angry that my money has been wasted on literal dirt! Bad job Miracle Grow, please fix this, and let me know when you do! I’d like a free sample!
Cons: Didn't work as expected, Bad Odor, Difficult to use, Messy
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We are sorry you did not receive the results you were hoping for with Miracle-Gro Garden Soil for Vegetables and Herbs. Fungal and mold spores are a natural part of soils. In fact, fungus and mold have been scientifically proven to improve the growth of plants by releasing important nutrients. While they may be unattractive, fungus and mold do not pose a risk to plants, and will disappear with sunlight and air circulation. We want you to be confident in our products. For this reason, we offer a product guarantee to our consumers. Please visit https://tinyurl.com/y9nlw5xl for more information.

Horrible... Full of Huge Woodchips

Purchased this to fill raised garden beds. It is worthless. Nothing but huge chunks of woodchips and shredded wood that is not in the least bit composted. It doesn't look much different than wood mulch. There is no soil whatsoever in this trash. My boyfriend had already filled some containers with the one bag, and too hard to get back in bag, so I will eat the cost of that bag, but return the other for refund and purchase something else to fill raised beds.
Cons: Didn't work as expected, Difficult to use, Problem with label

Sherry, we're sorry to hear about your experience with Miracle-Gro Garden Soil for Vegetables & Herbs. Although small pieces of wood and other organic materials are intentional components of our soils, there should not be an excessive amount. I feel like this was dug out of a garbage dump! I have never had glass in soil mix before but most of the 12 bags I opened had huge rocks, pieces of glass, rope, hard plastic, plastic bag pieces, I get that there is compost and little soil but there is a bunch of garbage mixed in.

Garder Soul????? NOT. Ground cover, possible.
on June 16, 2023

Bought 6 bags. No way in Hxxxx you can call this a "Garder Soil." Much less beer for "herbs and vegetables." You need to call the a Ground Cover or Mulch. Has absolutely NO neutrally value for plants. Everything I planted in a raised bed has stunted growth.. No way a Soul, Ground cover, YES. Not HAPPY AT ALL.

We're sorry to read about your disappointment with Miracle-Gro Garden Soil Vegetables & Herbs and appreciate your feedback.

While small pieces of bark and twigs are intentional components of our growing media including potting soil, garden soil, lawn soil, and topsoil, you should not find large pieces of wood or bark. Most of our soils especially potting mixes and garden soils are made of composted forest products and contain very little if any actual soil. Composted forest products provide high organic content and nutrients without the concern for soil compaction. The coarser material allows for air to reach the roots of the plant which improves plant performance.

We want you to be confident in our products. For this reason, we offer a product guarantee to our consumers. At your earliest convenience, please reach out to us at 888-295-6902 if we can further assist.

Did not work as advertised and tons of weeds, I bought this for my container garden for the back yard. Only about half the plants survived and all of them had bunched of weeds. I used new seeds and no other soils and planted indoors early and had awesome starters until I moved them to the miracle-gro garden soil for vegetables and herbs. My herb and most of my vegetable crow was rtuined this year. 10 bags of this stuff, ugg, never again - You should make this right Miracle-Gro
Cons: Didn't work as expected

Bought 6 bags for my container garden. First bag was full of cut worms. No joke. Bag #2 had All kinds of roots with green leaves already started in the bag. It was nasty looking mess. I haven’t used the other 4 bags yet. Very disappointed with this purchase and will not repeat it in the future. I had just spent several hours removing old soil from a planter box and had treated it with corn meal in kill the cut worms that were in the old soil. When the new bag was put in I picked out at least a dozen new cut worms that were in the new bag. It looked as if I had dug soil out of my own yard.
Cons: Messy

Rich Garden Soil

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Here where I live, in Texas, we luckily have two planting seasons; the usual late spring, after frost/summer season, and also the fallish season. We normally only freeze here in late January or February, if at all, living near the Gulf of Mexico.
We take advantage of that extra second planting  season time.
Although we have a compost pile, we usually use most of it on the first planting season. Even though I continue to add and grow our compost, it does take time to get it ready to use.
I've learned that if we wish to do our second garden planting, we need ready made, rich compost-like soil to have good results.
I'm very impressed with the Miracle Grow Garden Soil for Vegetables and Herbs.
Some fall seasons bring rain to us, but this year, like a lot in the past, we are having many beautiful sunny mild weather days, and not so much rain. So the fact that this soil holds moisture is a huge help.
The thing I love the most, is the dark, rich, compost-like density that this product holds.
I can continue to nurture my own compost pile for the spring garden, yet use this to have a healthy fall harvest.
My plants and herbs seem to really like this soil, and are doing well, so we plan to continue using it in years to come.
With grocery prices soaring, we all can use gardening to not only save money, but feel good about food that we grow ourselves.
I'm thinking about adding a bag or two, of this soil to my compost pile in the spring and actually making a much bigger home garden next year
So far, the plants are growing well and happy, and with a little bit of water and nutrients.
I am confident that we will have a great fall/early winter harvest once again this year.
I highly recommend this soil as being dark, rich, and plant happy.
Although it's best for our outdoor garden, I also plant fresh herbs and some easy to grow indoor veggies, like green onions and some herbs, and I'm using this nice rich soil to do so, and they are also doing well.
I do recommend this rich garden soil for all of your garden plant needs! It's good stuff!
Pros: Easy to Use, Quality, Value, Effective
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] perfect texture to amend my mostly clay soil, my peppers really did seem to benefit the most. I even mixed some in my potted peppers and they're still producing peppers in my greenhouse during the entire winter season.
Pros: Effective
I would recommend this to a friend!
